SUMMARY: It's the first Quest in The World, just in time for Easter! There's a message awaiting everyone on their Relics when they wake up, so hop to it!

[ You'll see this becoming a theme, Kain unfortunately decked out for the holiday in question while being rather sour about it. He's at his usual spot behind the Quest Kiosk, in his usual blue garb. The only difference is the silver bunny ears perching on his head, one straight with a bent tip and the other rather floppy.

The fluffy tail sticking out the back of the chair was not helping matters any. There's a basket filled with pastel paper easter grass and filled to burst with silver and bronze eggs, intricately designed with pipes, rivets and gears.

The Relics around town chirped, steamed, and vibrated, with the message already on-screen.

HAPPY EASTER （＊´∀｀＊ｂ）━━！！！！ There's eight eggs to be found in every area and dungeon today, so grab a basket by the Chaos Gate and find them all! One has a surprise for you, so bring the other seven to the Quest Kiosk for your final prize!

There's a sign beside the stacks of empty easter baskets detailing the objective a little further, stating that eggs in dungeons will be found no lower than the second floor, and that there's a prize for participating as well.

In the meantime, Kain is kicked back and playing a game on his Relic. ]



( ooc | Please don't forget to tag your characters into the log when you've replied! Here's the low-down on prizes: one of the eggs, when picked up, will spontaneously combust and your character will have a Rabbit Hood item automatically equipped. You can't remove it for the rest of the week, and it will give the character unique bunny ears like Kain, in the character's hair color (but sometimes accidents happen and it may not match!).

Anyone who participates but doesn't collect all the eggs in one area will be auto-equipped with an equally-irremovable Rabbit Tail charm ONLY ONCE! There will be no item duplicates, and all of the eggs they gathered will disappear at the end of the Quest if not turned in for the prize. The Rabbit Tail charm will give them a perfectly round fluff tail to match their ears.

Finally, if you collect all seven (eight with the bunny ears), you'll win a basket filled with fresh hot food, some extra rations, and a number of healing items. More free grub on the house! )

[N, fearlessly and potentially stupidly walking right on up to it! Hello, little Fate Worm. It flips, and starts running around to avoid the strangers.]

...so...we recruit it? [ is that what you do with harmless animals? She looks at Saralegui to see if he knows what to do. ]

[yes, it is a derpy little worm thing. but the most innocent looking things could be dangerous. just look at yuuri. or himself, even.]

Yes, yes, leave him alone. He's happy.

[Such a simple thing, so quickly, completely lifts N's spirits! He's got a much happier spring in his step as he keeps walking.]

Wonderful. This place... it's not perfect, but the elements and components are there. With the proper balancing and putting the components into the right formulas, this place may very well become perfect.

Oh, okay. [ she is... clearly somewhat confused by what N says. She looks around as if trying to see what he's talking about. ]

Wa! Is that a box over there? [ point point. things are in boxes, right? ]

"Perfect" is subjective.

[perfect would involve passage home, without all these stupid games. but no need to argue that right now. he turns his head in the direction viki points in, squinting.]

It looks like...a treasure chest?

I've only read about those in stories. Unless it's a child's toy chest, that is.

There were treasure chests where I come from! There were nice things in them!

It's not like anyone is taking any of this seriously anyway. Let's just go look.

[and he'll just stride on ahead of the others, rolling his eyes, tolerance for this game quickly shrinking.]

It's a game of hide and seek. I don't think it's supposed to be serious.

[deadpan look. seriously viki stop that, how do you expect him to be chivalrous and all that with all these teleporting shenanigans.]

Is there anything in it?

[N doesn't seem to be too distracted by the teleporting! It's cool he's got a friend who's a psychic type.]

You made it there first, go on and open it!

[Nothing about ladies first though.]

[uwawa]

E-eh? Me? Really?! [ but isn't the leader supposed to open things? ] W-wa, I won't do it wrong, will I?

[ she taps at the box with her staff a few times and it pops open. ]

[luckily, it doesn't seem to be a trap box -- that would be just a little too cruel for their first outing. saralegui keeps a safe few feet away just in case anything does decide to blow up, but he does lean in curiously to try to peek at whatever the chest's contents are over viki's shoulder.]

[A level 1 accessory! Nice. N reaches in and pulls out the necklace.]

Equipment, I think. It appears to have stats attached to it.

[What a strange thing! But it's not completely beyond N's scope of understanding. It's like a hold item for a Pokemon. It looks something like a choice scarf.

He looks between his two party mates, before passing it to Viki.]

Here. You found the chest, so it's yours. May it make you stronger.

[uwawa]

...huh? Really? Really, really? [ she looks between the both of them...then again she did get equipment from Prince and the others. Oh right, what happened to all that ]

Okay then, thank you! [ Viki equipped simple necklace! ...wait, wasn't she wearing one already? ] Oh, where did that go?

[he just nods slightly, half-smirking at her excitement. it wasn't like he particularly cared about jewelry anyway, and if it made her happy then so be it.]

Well, that's wonderful and all, but we're still short a number of eggs.

[solveforn]

That's true. We should look in another area.

[uwawa]

We should keep going, wa!

Then let's go.

[and he's off again, clearly ready to be done with all of this as soon as possible. also clearly not so concerned about that whole "sticking close together" thing as he should be, but to be fair, he's used to having a bodyguard unquestionably following him everywhere.]

[N doesn't mind the role of leader swapping, and follows, keeping step with Viki.

Though he was severely lacking in his familiar friends, and was quite out of his comfort zone, he was slowly feeling a bit more optimistic.]

What sort of "creatures" do you two know in your world?

Creatures? Um, like animals? [ she is guessing since he wanted to talk to the monsters. ]

Wa, I guess it would make sense, he likes animals!

[ it appears she has a little bit of difficulty thinking too hard and walking at the same time though, she lags behind a little as she considers that before noticing and running teleporting back next to N to stay close. ] Um, there was Byakuren and Gennoh...and um Bright and Ruby...Fubar um...do kobolds and nay-kobolds count? Mermaids... um. The beavers too...

They're just like people though! [ mostly. ]

[he glances over his shoulder at the other two, pondering the question, but he just shrugs. nothing viki mentions sounds familiar, and maybe that's just because she's kind of weird, but nothing N talked to him about the other day made much sense either so maybe it's to be expected.]

There's nothing really abnormal where I come from -- then again, I suppose none of it would seem abnormal to me, having lived there. Horses and cats and sandbears and bearbees and such. [a pause, and he adds:] I've never seen one myself, but I know there are dragons living out in the demon lands somewhere.
