SUMMARY: It's the first Quest in The World, just in time for Easter! There's a message awaiting everyone on their Relics when they wake up, so hop to it!

[ You'll see this becoming a theme, Kain unfortunately decked out for the holiday in question while being rather sour about it. He's at his usual spot behind the Quest Kiosk, in his usual blue garb. The only difference is the silver bunny ears perching on his head, one straight with a bent tip and the other rather floppy.

The fluffy tail sticking out the back of the chair was not helping matters any. There's a basket filled with pastel paper easter grass and filled to burst with silver and bronze eggs, intricately designed with pipes, rivets and gears.

The Relics around town chirped, steamed, and vibrated, with the message already on-screen.

HAPPY EASTER （＊´∀｀＊ｂ）━━！！！！ There's eight eggs to be found in every area and dungeon today, so grab a basket by the Chaos Gate and find them all! One has a surprise for you, so bring the other seven to the Quest Kiosk for your final prize!

There's a sign beside the stacks of empty easter baskets detailing the objective a little further, stating that eggs in dungeons will be found no lower than the second floor, and that there's a prize for participating as well.

In the meantime, Kain is kicked back and playing a game on his Relic. ]



( ooc | Please don't forget to tag your characters into the log when you've replied! Here's the low-down on prizes: one of the eggs, when picked up, will spontaneously combust and your character will have a Rabbit Hood item automatically equipped. You can't remove it for the rest of the week, and it will give the character unique bunny ears like Kain, in the character's hair color (but sometimes accidents happen and it may not match!).

Anyone who participates but doesn't collect all the eggs in one area will be auto-equipped with an equally-irremovable Rabbit Tail charm ONLY ONCE! There will be no item duplicates, and all of the eggs they gathered will disappear at the end of the Quest if not turned in for the prize. The Rabbit Tail charm will give them a perfectly round fluff tail to match their ears.

Finally, if you collect all seven (eight with the bunny ears), you'll win a basket filled with fresh hot food, some extra rations, and a number of healing items. More free grub on the house! )

[he is not sure if that means they're teleporting or she's just being enthusiastic, but he automatically gets a better grip on the basket and grabs onto her arm for support. just in case.]

[N, having avoided most of the teleporting somehow, doesn't pick up the cue the way Sara does.]

[ there's that glowing light from her hand again and one minute they're here...and the next they're there! ]

Wa! [ back in town it is! Unlike the two of you she's had some time to perfect her landing, at least when she does it right. Which she does this time, lucky for you there is no Viki falling onto you. ]

[he manages to both not fall and not drop the eggs! good thing too, recollecting these would be a pain in the ass.

he lets go of viki's arm the moment they're landed and steady, though. no need to make things awkward.]

[Well then! N stumbles, a bit, but manages not to fall. He feels the top of his head - nope, the ears are still there.]

[ actually she probably wouldn't have noticed. ]

[he would have, and that is more than enough.

taking a moment to regain his bearings, he shoots N a look, pointedly ignoring the ears for now so he can keep a straight face.]

So? What did we come back here for?

[To see if his ears would disappear. But, with a resigned sigh, he turns around and inputs the keywords for a different area.]

Huh? From here? Couldn't I have teleported somewhere else directly? [ confused and has no actual idea how the chaos gates work. ]

You could have teleported us to a different area, perhaps, but we wouldn't be sure if we could handle it until in the thick of things. [from what he'd seen of the use of the relics, the areas were ranked with numbers to determine how dangerous they were -- and it wouldn't have been very fun if they ended up dropped in something tougher than they could manage.]

Getting used to controlling the Chaos Gate will likely be invaluable. Looking at it, I'm starting to understand how all of the keyword elements work together in calculating the field that it leads to.

[Blah blah rambling about math and game mechanics.]

Um...um... [ confusion, she doesn't understand any of the things you're saying. ]

[neither does he. he makes a heroic effort of following along, but give him a break, he's still trying to wrap his head around the concept of a video game.]

[Hmm! He selects an area. Δ Disputing Heretic's Night Moon. Satisfied with his selection, he sends the party to the area.

Nighttime area! Low-level monsters, but what a pleasant place.]

Just as I thought.

E-eh? How did we do that? [ getting a taste of her own medicine or so...? ]

You can teleport too! Am I really needed then...?

It seems to be this place's way of sending people to these areas for their games. It only works at these gates, however, and only with the aid of those devices. There's a limit to where one can get with this method, so I doubt it's going to replace you.

It's very different from you, Viki. Your skills are unique to humans, as far as I have seen.

I can still help then? Yay, I'm glad!

It's good to know you want to be helpful. I don't have to feel guilty if I need a favor, then.

[he keeps his tone lighthearted, joking, but there is a layer of sincerity to it. always good to know where he could seek help from without fear of owing a debt, or being seen as manipulative.

glancing back to N, he adopted a smile and nodded in the general direction of the rest of the field.]

Did you want to take the lead again? Or have your new ears discouraged you from it?

[N looked uneasy at Saralegui before the comment about the ears. Guilt, in needing a favor... rather, the intent to call on a favor. N wasn't very comfortable with that. It was rather like Ghetsis, and after so recently being scorned--

He looks ahead, distracting himself from those thoughts.]

I want to ehlp, I definitely want to help! So if there's anything that even I can do both of you should tell me, wa! [ she could not be more sincere. ]

After all, you're taking care of me now!

I will keep it in mind, thank you. [and he offers viki a smile as he falls in behind N, all too aware of the look the other boy had given him but playing oblivious. so despite his earlier insistence that he was sorry and wanted to make amends, his whole show of trying to be friends, N did not trust him. unsurprising, of course. it seemed like people distrusted him on instinct, always attempting to hide it for the sake of politeness or personal gain.

[N went on ahead, leading them to an area devoid of monsters. It was a small area, after all. There were plenty of trees and barrels, however.]

A barrel might be a good place to hide an egg. And maybe there are eggs hidden by the roots of the trees.

[Simple suggestions. Even if it sounded strange and jilted to normal conversation, it wasn't too different than what he would say to his Pokemon.]
