SUMMARY: It's the first Quest in The World, just in time for Easter! There's a message awaiting everyone on their Relics when they wake up, so hop to it!

[ You'll see this becoming a theme, Kain unfortunately decked out for the holiday in question while being rather sour about it. He's at his usual spot behind the Quest Kiosk, in his usual blue garb. The only difference is the silver bunny ears perching on his head, one straight with a bent tip and the other rather floppy.

The fluffy tail sticking out the back of the chair was not helping matters any. There's a basket filled with pastel paper easter grass and filled to burst with silver and bronze eggs, intricately designed with pipes, rivets and gears.

The Relics around town chirped, steamed, and vibrated, with the message already on-screen.

HAPPY EASTER （＊´∀｀＊ｂ）━━！！！！ There's eight eggs to be found in every area and dungeon today, so grab a basket by the Chaos Gate and find them all! One has a surprise for you, so bring the other seven to the Quest Kiosk for your final prize!

There's a sign beside the stacks of empty easter baskets detailing the objective a little further, stating that eggs in dungeons will be found no lower than the second floor, and that there's a prize for participating as well.

In the meantime, Kain is kicked back and playing a game on his Relic. ]



( ooc | Please don't forget to tag your characters into the log when you've replied! Here's the low-down on prizes: one of the eggs, when picked up, will spontaneously combust and your character will have a Rabbit Hood item automatically equipped. You can't remove it for the rest of the week, and it will give the character unique bunny ears like Kain, in the character's hair color (but sometimes accidents happen and it may not match!).

Anyone who participates but doesn't collect all the eggs in one area will be auto-equipped with an equally-irremovable Rabbit Tail charm ONLY ONCE! There will be no item duplicates, and all of the eggs they gathered will disappear at the end of the Quest if not turned in for the prize. The Rabbit Tail charm will give them a perfectly round fluff tail to match their ears.

Finally, if you collect all seven (eight with the bunny ears), you'll win a basket filled with fresh hot food, some extra rations, and a number of healing items. More free grub on the house! )

[ It's over soon enough.

Lu Xun puts away his blades and turns, smiling, and gives a small bow. ] I, Lu Xun, thank you greatly for your help!

[dragonsjaw]

[ it was impossible to mistaken that name and though he had never had a chance to meet the man himself on the battlefield the skill he'd just glimpsed made it difficult to draw a different conclusion. ]

Lu Xun? Master Lu Boyan of Wu? [ the shock is obvious in both his voice and his face. ]

[ He's just as surprised. To be recognized... He doesn't know this face, though. ]

Then, you too, are from the Three Kingdoms?

[dragonsjaw]

Indeed, it is an honour to meet you, Master Lu. [ he bows deeply, out of respect and to buy a moment to gather his thoughts. Though Shu and Wu had been allies in the past they had been at odds just as often. They were not actively waging war against each other but Jiang Wei could not forget his mentor's praise and caution regarding this man.

If Lu Xun was unaware of him then there was no need to let him know, it would only complicate matters. ]

I am Jiang Wei, please excuse me for my outburst. [ he straightens finally though kept his eyes downcast. ] I was not expecting someone from the same land, let alone someone so acclaimed.

[ He considers the man before him quietly for a moment. There's a small smile on his lips when he speaks, ] And yet I overextended myself against these few enemies and ended up troubling you so.

Would you join me to complete this duty, Master Jiang? Together, we can achieve more with our skills combined than I ever could, alone.

[dragonsjaw]

No doubt I would have been in the same situation had I not come upon Master Lu first. [ the intention had been to test what he could do in this land so completely removed from their own. ]

Indeed, it would be unwise for either of us to proceed alone, it would be an honour to join you.

The honour is mine. [ Inwardly, he's relieved. From the short battle alone, Lu Xun could see that Jiang Wei was experienced, perhaps more so than he was himself.

He retrieves from his inventory the egg basket, containing one egg. ] I found this one by the machine. The request mentioned eight eggs, so there are seven -- No, six more eggs and one surprise.

[ He pauses. ] There is also one other objective we must complete on this map: collecting the 'symbol fragments'... I'm afraid I don't know what they are yet.

[dragonsjaw]

I see... [ only he honestly still doesn't understand the meaning behind the eggs. ] It seems straightforward enough an objective, it will be a good opportunity to test our skills in this strange place.

Let us proceed.

[firetrap]

[ Lu Xun has made a mental note to ask the questgiver person-in-charge later.

He nods, then... picks a direction. ] Shall we look this way first?

[dragonsjaw]

I shall follow your lead. [ he keeps an eye out for more beasts. Though they handled that group well enough between the two of them if they were taken by surprise that could be a problem. ]

Master Lu, is that a chest of some sort over there? [ valuable things are kept in containers right? That logic must be...universal or something. ]

[firetrap]

[ He looks towards the chest and the monsters then nods again. Unfortunately the terrain was flat, with no covers. ] If only we could catch them off their guards... What do you think, Master Jiang?

[dragonsjaw]

They should be able to see us. [ considering they can see them clearly... ]

Perhaps these creatures have poor range of vision, if we can circle to their backs while we are outside of it and then approach swiftly... That may work?

[firetrap]

Though we stand this close, they have not noticed us yet... I see! Let us give it a try.

[ With the basket stored away and his blades out, Lu Xun moves, lightly and softly, circling around to the back while watching the creatures very closely. As expected, the creatures don't react.

Lu Xun waits. For a signal, or anything. ]

[dragonsjaw]

[ Jiang Wei does the same, keeping his steps light as they approach the creatures. Once they're close enough he glances over to Lu Xun, signalling with a sharp nod. ]

[firetrap]

[ At that signal, he runs. Light, fast steps -- and then Lu Xun turns, swinging his blades and knocking the two furthest creatures closer to the third. Your move, Jiang Wei! ]

[dragonsjaw]

[ He charges forward, pushing through the beasts and spinning his spear to follow with his ex attack a powerful slash. ]

[firetrap]

[ Lu Xun follows up with his own ex-attack nimble slashes, the red of fire glowing and reflected on his blades. One of the creatures begins to chant, and there's a sudden glow on the ground. He rushes for it, but still-- ]

Watch out!

[dragonsjaw]

[ the warning gives him enough time to bring up his guard though that does him little good against the unnatural wind that blasts against him, throwing him back before he manages to brace himself. ]

[ He's not taking any chances now, not if these creatures have access to sorcery like that. Lu Xun concentrates, and when he reaches the creature, musous kicks it three times.

Landing softly, he turns to look at the remaining creatures -- if there are any. ]

[dragonsjaw]

[ there won't be any soon. Jiang Wei shares the opinion it seems, judging the unknown variables too risky to hold back. He pierces through the remaining beasts with his musou thunderous charge, feeling the familiar spark course through his weapon. ]

[firetrap]

[ He's grateful that it's over but a part of Lu Xun is definitely intrigued. ]

That was interesting. [ If slightly dangerous. ] The creatures earlier did not use sorcery of any sort, but these ones did. [ Though...he should probably check that chest out. Looking it over to see if it's booby-trapped first! ]

[dragonsjaw]

Yes...there is much to learn about this world. [ he does not like surprises. They're like ambushes in his pass. ]

Here, I have better reach. [ /stabs the chest a bit. ]

[ Lu Xun readies himself in case--

The chest opens to reveal a fragment symbol and an egg! The latter of which Lu Xun will summon the basket to keep away. ] Two, now.

[ Wait. He just remembered there's a map function on his relic so he'll be checking it over. ] If this map is right, it appears this path leads to a dead end.

[dragonsjaw]

And perhaps that is the symbol fragment you spoke of earlier. [ oh right, the map function. he takes out his relic as well. He's really not used to this gadget. ]

Such a device...this world is truly a wonder. [ he honestly still doesn't really understand the things written in this device. ]
