SUMMARY: It's the first Quest in The World, just in time for Easter! There's a message awaiting everyone on their Relics when they wake up, so hop to it!

[ You'll see this becoming a theme, Kain unfortunately decked out for the holiday in question while being rather sour about it. He's at his usual spot behind the Quest Kiosk, in his usual blue garb. The only difference is the silver bunny ears perching on his head, one straight with a bent tip and the other rather floppy.

The fluffy tail sticking out the back of the chair was not helping matters any. There's a basket filled with pastel paper easter grass and filled to burst with silver and bronze eggs, intricately designed with pipes, rivets and gears.

The Relics around town chirped, steamed, and vibrated, with the message already on-screen.

HAPPY EASTER （＊´∀｀＊ｂ）━━！！！！ There's eight eggs to be found in every area and dungeon today, so grab a basket by the Chaos Gate and find them all! One has a surprise for you, so bring the other seven to the Quest Kiosk for your final prize!

There's a sign beside the stacks of empty easter baskets detailing the objective a little further, stating that eggs in dungeons will be found no lower than the second floor, and that there's a prize for participating as well.

In the meantime, Kain is kicked back and playing a game on his Relic. ]

( ooc | Please don't forget to tag your characters into the log when you've replied! Here's the low-down on prizes: one of the eggs, when picked up, will spontaneously combust and your character will have a Rabbit Hood item automatically equipped. You can't remove it for the rest of the week, and it will give the character unique bunny ears like Kain, in the character's hair color (but sometimes accidents happen and it may not match!).

Anyone who participates but doesn't collect all the eggs in one area will be auto-equipped with an equally-irremovable Rabbit Tail charm ONLY ONCE! There will be no item duplicates, and all of the eggs they gathered will disappear at the end of the Quest if not turned in for the prize. The Rabbit Tail charm will give them a perfectly round fluff tail to match their ears.

Finally, if you collect all seven (eight with the bunny ears), you'll win a basket filled with fresh hot food, some extra rations, and a number of healing items. More free grub on the house! )

It's almost as if they're puppets... [ Looking at the other group of enemies thoughtfully. ]

That begs the question of who controls them.

[ There are so many unknown variables... He eyes the chest closest to them. ] They guard the fragments in these chests... Perhaps we will learn more when we reach the temple?

[ oh right, they still need to open that. He flicks the lid open with his spear again.

No fragment this time. ] It appears to be some sort of armor in this chest.

[ he can't help feeling a bit disappointed but there still is the other chest. ]

[ It's a normal Sub Gear (level 1 robe) that doesn't seem to be too useful for either of them. What catches Lu Xun's eye though is not the robe but what is underneath -- reaching in, he pulls an egg out! ]

Just three left.

We are nearing our goal. [ that seems to satisfy him, the sooner they get this quest complete the sooner... well the sooner nothing else happens. But maybe they'll get some answers. ]

Shall we proceed with the next group the same way?

Yes!

[ And they surprise the monsters and finish them off because I can only write about Lu Xun kicking things so many times in a thread and these two can take care of themselves pretty well without getting hurt!

ANYWAY. Looking at the other chest, ]

Master Jiang, if you will?

[ /opens ]

The final fragment and one more egg. [ he picks them out of the chest and holds out the egg for Lu Xun. ]

Should we investigate the temple now or continue our search for the final eggs first?

[ He takes them; the three fragments glow and merged into one larger symbol in his palm. Lu Xun holds it up, inspecting... If Jiang Wei wants to take a closer look, he'll offer it out too. ]

Let's search here first, so we don't need to backtrack in case there are any here. [ The way this search is going, he wouldn't find it surprising if there were eggs inside of the temple. ]

[ he accepts that. ] Some kind of artifact...?

[ he wonders if there's a meaning to it... ] All right, let's proceed into the temple.

[ No eggs in their immediate area, they set off the for the temple! There's one egg precariously located on the bottom of the temple steps which Lu Xun picks up and places into the basket now containing six eggs.

He looks into the temple, curious, a little excited. ] Shall we enter?

[ he nods. ] Ah...though we should take care, just in case there is a deity here. [ just in case the bunny ears are in fact a really weird kind of punishment. ]

[ Nodding back. Then Lu Xun walks deeper inside until he comes to the door. What lies beyond it...? It was exciting.

He waits for Jiang Wei, though. They can open the door and go through together. ]

[ he's just half a step behind! ]

Are you ready, Master Lu? [ in case there is an ambush behind this door. ]

I am prepared.

[ He... has his swords out still too. Just in case.

He pushes the door opened and -- that statue. Lu Xun looks at the inside of the temple in awe... It's empty, though, other than the statue, the chest, and the warp point he's come to recognize.

They can enter, right? ...He slowly takes one step in. ]

[ yes he still has his spear in ready of course.

he pauses in front of the statue, should they...bow? He decides to, just in case. A small respectful bow before he makes his way in with Lu Xun. ]

[ Uncertainly, Lu Xun walks up and when he thinks it's a comfortable distance, he bows as well...

And stays there. Waiting to see if someone tells him to rise. ]

[ that is not happening and after a long moment Jiang Wei looks over and straightens up. ]

I suppose we should take that as permission to go ahead. [ or else they'll be here all day. ]

[ Cautiously raises his head and looks to the beast statue curiously...

Then at the chest.

Back at the beast statue. ] Do we leave the offering inside?

Perhaps... [ he half lowers his spear since it seems rude to hold it up in a deity's shrine. ]

There is another chest there as well... Perhaps we place it in there?

[ ...well, this chest can't be booby-trapped, can it?

Lu Xun nods. ] Very well. If you will, Master Jiang? [ Since... you have it. ]

[ oh right, forgot about that being busy trying to figure out what kind of deity this might be. ]

Of course. [ ...poking with his spear would be rude, right? Okay so he's going to open it normally. ]

There is something in here. [ a reward for paying respects? ]

A weapon. [ It's a low level lance with the wind element. Lu Xun looks over. ] Will it be useful for you?

[ ...because ~~it's a power weapon~~ he can't use it ]

[ he picks up the weapon and sets down the symbol down. ]

It should be. [ he sounds a little bit unsure, mostly because things seem to work differently here.

Except now he has two weapons. How does he put things away again? A moment of awkward fidgetting and he manages to put the new weapon away. ] I will examine it in greater detail once we've completed our remaining task. Shall we? [ glancing back at the beast statue again. THEY DON'T NEED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE DO THEY? ]

[ He follows Jiang Wei's line of sight back to the statue, studying it, trying to memorize the features. Perhaps it was foolish to think that the deity would be present, perhaps someone back in the town would know of it--? ]

The last-- Ah! [ As he turns, Lu Xun finally looks downwards and it's by the warp point he spots the final egg, which he goes to pick up. Smiling at his companion, he says, ] We have completed it.
