SUMMARY: To some it's May Day, to others it's the European tradition of Walpurgisnacht-- in The World, we have both for you! There's no dungeons to raid or items to collect this go around, just stop by for free food, bonfires, and maybe some reward items just for your time.


[ A message beeps on everyone's devices the night of the 30th, nearing midnight. Any heavy sleepers or goody two-shoes may miss out on The World's first bonfire, but it probably won't be the last. The message is simple: an invitation to Δ Roaring Midnight's* Old World for good food and a midnight celebration for Walpurgisnacht.

And an alternative come 6AM for Δ Endless Sunshine's* May Queen*, if they'd prefer a daytime picnic and a dance around the maypole.

So what'll it be, Players? ]


( ooc: As these are special event areas, some of the words in these do not exist for player creation. "Midnight's", "Sunshine's", and "May Queen" are some of them! There'll be different event items to earn by attending either of these, and you don't need to pick one or the other. Apologies again for the delay, and for the number of event logs! There'll typically only be two a month or so. )

[his ears twitch when he catches with of a strange noise. The sound of paws padding along the grass (and Link would know; it's a sound he's become very familiar with). Blue eyes open suddenly when Amaterasu draws closer to his bowl of soup. When he spots the white wolf however, he could only blink in surprise.

There were no wolves in Hyrule, save for the White Wolfos that live up on Snowpeak. Before Twilight covered everything, Link himself had never seen a wolf properly. Now, however...]

[he moves his soup away from the muzzle of the other wolf, brows knitted together in confusion but not concerned. This animal seemed more interested in his food than Link himself, so it couldn't be a monster. Right?]

why is the bowl being taken away like that? she seems to be mistaking his expression for something of surprise, and not any sort of confusion. maybe he hadn't been asleep after all? or had she been too noisy on her feet?

with a soft huff at him (bring the bowl back - if he's not going to finish it off, then she will!) and she...kind of makes an attempt to crawl onto his lap and get back into close proximity of the bowl.]

It's surprisingly good, so I'm not complaining. [ There's the faintest smile and quiet mumbling, something along the lines of 'maybe later'. At the moment, though, he's not really in the mood for stuffing himself with food, however delicious it was. ]

... I... I don't think I can. [ In other words, it might prove to be quite difficult to convince him into doing anything. Good luck! ]

[he holds the half-finished bowl aloft with one hand as the other lightly taps the top of the wolf's head lightly. No, now please stop climbing on him?]

[oh ho ho~ One of those types hmmm? Hope kinda reminds Sonic of someone...]

Why not? [he takes a second to wolf down the wurst to free up a hand] It's not like there's a threat of the world ending, or some evil King bearing down on us with his Underworld Army.

[when the bowl is placed more so out of her reach, and there's that tapping on her head, she lets out a grumble. peering up at him with an expression that says "well, you didn't seem too interested in it!" before she backs up off of him.

there. no more fatty wolf on him attempting to ninja his food.]

[he lowers his food bowl with a sigh after Amaterasu leaves. One problem dealt with...

Now Link turns his attention to inspecting the other wolf. This one looked a bit different from the Hero's Shade... But the markings covering the white wolf resembled his own]

[after staring at Amaterasu a moment longer, Link decides to just ask]

Which realm are you from?

[World of Light afflicted by Shadow? Because Link could certainly sympathize with that]

[he looks back at the voice, and his tone is far too cheery for a celebration this early, his grin too wide and enthusiastic.]

Somewhat. I have a bit about it, but never partaken in the event myself. [he glances back to the maypole and lifts the ribbon he'd been fiddling with in example.] Here, people each take one of the ribbons and dance around the pole with them, plaiting them around the pole in the process.

[this guy is really good at showing up unexpectedly, whether his presence is wanted or not, and the sight of a familiar face attracts him easily enough, so it shouldn't be a surprise when he's suddenly behind hope, speaking without bothering with greetings.]

[very little bothers him, interactions with people least of all. he looks down at the boy, somehow feeling aged by the word "mister" -- and how very human such a reaction is! he's almost embarrassed by the slip, but smiles anyway.]

Mm. Were you curious? [he switches his plate to the other hand so he can hold the ribbon out to the blond boy.] It is used in a traditional dance to celebrate the holiday. Each person involved takes one of these, and they dance around the pole, intertwining the ribbons around it in the process.

[well, you're a familiar face, even in the flickering light of the bonfire. their positions are a bit reversed this time, with link sitting and the king standing over him, but that too feels familiar, and so he's smirking as he nudges the other blond's shoulder gently.]

Is it wise to be sleeping out here?

[it was a bit earlier than he liked to wake up, especially after spending the previous night at the bonfire celebration. but saralegui is keen on being involved with everything that happens here, to see and learn what he can and try to make a plan from that.

that doesn't mean he's opposed to good company, however, and he hadn't seen this girl the night before, so he approaches with a polite smile when he hears her speaking aloud.]

[Meta Knight, too curious for his own good, is walltreeflowering to watch what kind of traditions the people of this realm. That flash of pink hair catches his attention, but he tries to avert contact since he knows that boy isn't Kirby.

[Though he was never much for human festivals before, the celebrations are worth a look this time around. He's standing at the side and watching, enjoying small tastes of food. Well, perhaps not as much as most people enjoy food, idly filling his belly while he watches.

He seems quite receptive to conversation, though! It might do him well to learn what the celebration is all about.]

[ to say that the invitation had excited Viki would be a huge understatement. A party! That she could go to! (as fun as adventuring parties seem to be that really isn't the same) But at the same time it seemed strange to go to a party without knowing who would be there so for once Viki actually did the logical thing! She asked someone else to go with her ♥

It's good to have friends. Maybe later they could see if they could figure out a unite attack. ]

Minako, what are those? [ she points to the May Pole excitedly. ]

[ The sudden intrusion completely ruins his concentration, fortunately he's quick enough to prevent the bowl he's been holding from slipping and hitting the ground. Heck, that was close. While he doesn't mind your company that much, next time make sure you catch him in a less embarrassing situation. ]
