SUMMARY: It's the first Quest in The World, just in time for Easter! There's a message awaiting everyone on their Relics when they wake up, so hop to it!

[ You'll see this becoming a theme, Kain unfortunately decked out for the holiday in question while being rather sour about it. He's at his usual spot behind the Quest Kiosk, in his usual blue garb. The only difference is the silver bunny ears perching on his head, one straight with a bent tip and the other rather floppy.

The fluffy tail sticking out the back of the chair was not helping matters any. There's a basket filled with pastel paper easter grass and filled to burst with silver and bronze eggs, intricately designed with pipes, rivets and gears.

The Relics around town chirped, steamed, and vibrated, with the message already on-screen.

HAPPY EASTER （＊´∀｀＊ｂ）━━！！！！ There's eight eggs to be found in every area and dungeon today, so grab a basket by the Chaos Gate and find them all! One has a surprise for you, so bring the other seven to the Quest Kiosk for your final prize!

There's a sign beside the stacks of empty easter baskets detailing the objective a little further, stating that eggs in dungeons will be found no lower than the second floor, and that there's a prize for participating as well.

In the meantime, Kain is kicked back and playing a game on his Relic. ]



( ooc | Please don't forget to tag your characters into the log when you've replied! Here's the low-down on prizes: one of the eggs, when picked up, will spontaneously combust and your character will have a Rabbit Hood item automatically equipped. You can't remove it for the rest of the week, and it will give the character unique bunny ears like Kain, in the character's hair color (but sometimes accidents happen and it may not match!).

Anyone who participates but doesn't collect all the eggs in one area will be auto-equipped with an equally-irremovable Rabbit Tail charm ONLY ONCE! There will be no item duplicates, and all of the eggs they gathered will disappear at the end of the Quest if not turned in for the prize. The Rabbit Tail charm will give them a perfectly round fluff tail to match their ears.

Finally, if you collect all seven (eight with the bunny ears), you'll win a basket filled with fresh hot food, some extra rations, and a number of healing items. More free grub on the house! )

[he's indeed standing at the chaos gate with a relic in hand hand and a basket slung over his forearm, and at minako's approach he just nods, smiling almost absentmindedly and still focused on the device in his hand.]

Ah, I suppose I should be, shouldn't I? This is all a game, after all, and a game isn't any fun if you don't play along with these things.

[suddenly, he looks up at her and grins, relic already on the member address tab and held out to form a party.]

An excellent way to forge connections with another as well, events like this. Shall we?

[ She holds up her own, smiling. Beep, the device goes, exchanging member cards. ]

I'm Arisato Minako! You are?

Kaworu Nagisa. And according the the information given by these devices...

[he holds up the relic with a flick or his wrist, deftly swapping over to the status tab.]

...My class is apparently called "Blade Brandier". I hope that will be of some use to you.

It's nice to meet you, ah, a sword-user! I'm a Macabre Dancer myself, which means I have spells to debuff the enemies.

Since you're the party leader, why don't you pick an area, Nagisa-kun?

[he gives a soft hum, something between agreement and mild surprise -- it's a bit strange, suddenly being a leader, but there's no one directing him in this world, so why shouldn't he accept the role wholeheartedly?]

Of course. I will find us somewhere level-appropriate, Minako. [he uses her given name on purpose, more than a little curious to how she would take it, especially after having set a precedent with using his last. his tone is casual, however, careful to not let anything seem overly intentional, and he returns his attention to the relic long enough to plug in a few keywords, ΔHeavenly Wrath's Freedom. it certainly felt appropriate enough.]

Okay!

[ She doesn't seem to mind, actually. Localization has people using her first name anyway-- Minako grins, slightly mischievious. ] Then, should I call you Kaworu-kun?

Please do.

[he shoots her another smiles before entering the command to warp to the area. there's the sensation of displacement for a moment, and then he's opening his eyes to a field-type area, night already fallen here and the sky clear and starry.]

[ Minako gazes up at the night sky then down at her wrist by instinct before she realises her watch still isn't there. How silly that she keeps forgetting, both that her watch is locked away and that the Dark Hour doesn't exist here.

She beams at Kaworu. ] Egg hunt sta~rt!

[he just smiles at her enthusiasm, evidently pleased that she was handling this whole alternate world thing so well. there were plenty of others that might have just fallen into despair, and while that fragility was beautiful in itself, happiness like this is also so very human and charming.

he nods, picking a direction an random to begin walking in.]

With any luck, this dark won't hinder us too terribly. It is a lovely night, however. And to think this is all manmade...

[inhearts]

[ The nights back home, though dark themselves, were brightened by street lamps. Here, where there were none, the stars themselves looked almost brighter, clearer and the air fresher.

Minako follows Kaworu, unafraid and seemingly more cheerful in the night. ] It's beautiful and very gentle. [ The night she means, and its calming atmosphere. ] Could the technology or magic in your world make something like this?

Perhaps. I was never able to try playing any games created by the Lilin, but I saw advertisements, and displays in stores. Given a few years, I think it could have been done. [he talks as he walks, keeping to the shore's edge for now -- perhaps climbing a hill to get a better vantage point would be tactically more sound, but he just likes it down here more.]

[inhearts]

[ If they weren't here for a reason, Minako would have loved to sit down and soak in the sights. But they are, so she walks with him, listening. ]

I've never played a game like this before either. There were multiplayer games back home but never anything as immersive as this... It's really interesting, isn't it?

Mm. I doubt I'll ever cease to be amazed by the ability of mankind. Something like this goes beyond creation...rather, it's as if the creators have become gods themselves, to have created a world like this from nothing.

[as they come up to a tree, he takes a moment to glance around its base, but nothing. either this is harder than expected, or he wasn't really trying all that hard.]

Humanity shouldn't be underestimated! After all, there are all kinds of people and there are people who won't give up. [ And she says this with conviction, because she was fighting, is still fighting, and she's met all sorts of people who are fighting in their own way. Although -- Kaworu's phrasing does make her wonder and she's about to ask, but-- ]

[ Minako's glanced upwards, maybe to look at the stars again, maybe to search, and she spots something. ]

Ah, an egg!

[he glances up, following her gaze to the branches overhead, and smirks as he reaches up to pluck it from its perch and then drop it in the basket on his arm.]

One down.

Seven more to go!

[ She does a spin, looking around them, but there's no other egg around that she can see. ]

[he just shakes his head, smile ever in place, and turns back in the direction they'd been walking.]

We'll likely have better luck if we keep going. They aren't likely to all be bunched up in the same area, after all, and this field seems fairly large.

[inhearts]

Good point! [ Following somebody else for once, she realises, is a nice change of pace. What had she been thinking of...? Oh. ] I wonder if the GMs actually are humans. [ Kain looks human, but she's learnt that not everyone who looks is. ]

[his smile slips away for a moment while he considers that, but after a long few moments he just shrugs.]

I believe they are. I could be wrong -- I can hardly know everything about a world that's taken such a different path than my own, after all -- but they do strike me as human.

Kain seems like one, doesn't he? [ Minako says this, still thinking about Ryoji, and it probably bleeds into her tone. She ponders that somemore, then shakes her head. ] What's your world like?

The one with the eyepatch? His behavior certainly seems human enough...

[that is a good question, though. he stops walking for a moment, looking up at the sky while he considers how to answer that in the simplest way possible.]

On the day I was born, Second Impact happened, creating disaster across the world and leading to the death of billions of people. The world is still recovering from that incident. A series of Angels had descended upon Earth in an attempt to start the Third Impact and effectively end humanity entirely, but they were all fought off by an organization called NERV, and the children they have piloting giant armored synthesized humans called Evangelions.

[ Her eyes widen. Minako clearly wasn't expecting anything like this and it's ... a lot to take in. Deaths of billions of people, ending humanity... It's a lot worse than what was happening back home, wasn't it?

She takes a few seconds to consider her response, but asks, slightly more subdued, slightly hopeful, ] Is humanity safe now?

[he shrugs again and returns to walking, his easy smile back in place and his eyes drifting shut.]

Perhaps. The last thing I remember before waking up here was my death, so I can't say for sure how things are right now. But I have faith that everything will work out. [because it's shinji. and because he died so he could give shinji this chance, so he can't do anything but hope right now.]
