SUMMARY: The NPCs around town are spreading rumors of a dungeon chest that can't be opened. If you ask them nicely, they'll give you the area words Δ Choosing Superior Offerings. What you do or what you'll try from there is up to you!

The NPCs around town are busy murmuring to each other and eyeing the adventurers curiously, wondering aloud if anyone in Mac Anu would fall for such folly. Surely not, but who would ever know the root of the story if no one went to look? It spreads through the town like wildfire, this rumor of a dungeon chest that will not open for any who have tried. Some don't know the area words, but they know who will and will forward any eager or curious adventures to them.

Once at the dungeon, however, things are a little different. There are far less monsters to be found-- in fact, hardly any at all. It's a level 11 temple dungeon, with three floors. One needs only to reach the second floor to start hearing voices...

The NPC in the dungeon is squat and fat, shadowed in heavy robes. They'll threaten and harangue anyone who comes to them, and summon undead goblins to fight you after a while. Once you've defeated all six, he warps off and leaves the way to a new chest unbarred-- a chest which now opens and has unremarkable items inside. The event itself is the important part, though, and the first of three ongoing events. )

[A treasure chest that won't open? Sounds like a challenge! But the level gap was a big problem. If he went in there alone, he'd surely end up fighting something, or someTHINGS, that would just walk all over him.

Ryusei sat next to the chaos gate on the first floor staring at the passage before him, contemplating what course of action he should take.]

[Suddenly there's the sound of the Chaos Gate activating and someone slightly familiar should be dashing through. He heads straight into the dungeon, not noticing Ryusei sitting there and obviously not bothered by the fact that it's a level 11 dungeon.]

(Hmmm...perhaps I should call the guild leader. She seems strong. Or maybe..Hmm? Hey, that's Yuuta. What's he....!!)

Hey! Wait a minute, Yuuta!

[He quickly rises to feet and gives chase]

[Yeah, there's no way someone Shinon's level can solo this quest. At least, she's assuming it's a quest - it wasn't unheard of for hidden quests to come to light once somebody stumbled upon the trigger. With such thoughts, Shinon will be hanging out by the Chaos Gate, keeping a sharp eye out for some higher leveled players who she might be able to nab for a party member.]

[Silly Shinon. She knew one person who was more than adequately leveled, and who had gone through the guild to gather up any members he could find before heading for the Chaos Gate with a determined look in his eyes.]

So we'll be completing the quest as a guild? Hm.

[ LUCKILY FOR SHINON, Ada is a super!leveled girl! Not as leveled as Roy, of course, and she's kind of a Harvest Cleric, buuuut... S, she's really high leveled, okay. ]

Miss Shinon? [ and also spotted you! ]

[It's an interesting rumor, and there's no escaping N's curiosity. He makes the necessary preparations to go... hmm. Perhaps he'll invite a party member or two!]

[Well, it was a suspicious rumor, but it couldn't hurt to check it out anyway, right?]

[An unopenable chest... Of course not. Humans can do anything. AO just needs to figure out which of them to take with him.]

[Hiroto was looking for someone to go to the dungeon with, too. He has the area words now, but looking at it, it was a high level dungeon and he wouldn't be able to go through it alone.

So he approaches the first person he sees.]

Hi. Have you heard the rumors?

[ Ada is not really the best at dungeons, and she is also not a fighter! But she will definitely try to help? ]

Mister Saiduq! [ a wave! ] It's been a while ~!

[Unopenable chest, hunh? He's crazy enough to find out if that's real or not, but he knows he doesn't have much in the level department...]

[Treasure chest that couldn't be opened? Aradia was all over that. She had been working on levelling up, but she realized she couldn't really do this thing alone.

So, she starts looking around for someone to go on the quest with.]

[Pirates had a way of getting a hold of information like this. Unfortunately for her, she doesn't quite understand the whole concept of "levels" right now and is just looking for other people - any other people - to get at that chest.]

[... Well, that was one interesting rumor. He wasn't quite sure just how much his own abilities have been affected since he arrived, but he figured it won't hurt to mention this to the only other person he knows from his world in case he missed it.

Oh Roberto, hope you were expecting company. This also means that Asad will be wandering around looking for any familiar faces to maybe help form a group. It was safer in numbers, after all.

If he is familiar with your face, he will approach.]

[Hi Asad. Roberto's likely preparing for another day training at one place or another. Gotta get his sword and armour back, and all, as well as a determined persistence in trying to find a way back.

He looks up whenever he notices Asad coming his way, just starting to head toward the Chaos Gate. And nope, of course he hasn't heard the rumour. Roberto doesn't pay attention to those sorts of things (not even here).]

[It wasn't that he thought he could actually beat anything there. Not with his current strength, which sucked given that he was fairly certain this would have been easier had the circumstances been different. However, anything that sounded suspicious could very well be something worth checking into. Seeing as he wasn't sure who he could trust yet, he ends up at the entrance of the area alone.

Well, he might not trust anyone yet, but he supposed accompanying someone who would arrive at the place was not a bad option either.]

[Curious, Taiyou walked into the dungeon's first floor by himself about half an hour before Tsubaki arrived at the entrance. He's a good level as far as the suggested number is, but he is still a support class, so it wasn't a very wise decision to go without company. Then again, there don't seem to be many monsters around...

So why were the NPC's whispering about this place so much? Other than the silence it's not very interesting at all. Maybe if he heads deeper in?]

[ Hope couldn't care less about finding the chest, but having been here for a while, he can speak from experience. And his experiences taught him that there was usually some profit in just tagging along - be it food or items that would probably cost a fortune otherwise.

And who knows, maybe it would bring him closer to... whatever goal there really was.

With the Chaos Gate, however, comes the first disappointment. Level eleven? Could it be that difficult? And besides, since when the dungeons were level limi--... oh. Wait.

The boy stares at his Relic's status screen in disbelief.
