SUMMARY: It's the first Quest in The World, just in time for Easter! There's a message awaiting everyone on their Relics when they wake up, so hop to it!

[ You'll see this becoming a theme, Kain unfortunately decked out for the holiday in question while being rather sour about it. He's at his usual spot behind the Quest Kiosk, in his usual blue garb. The only difference is the silver bunny ears perching on his head, one straight with a bent tip and the other rather floppy.

The fluffy tail sticking out the back of the chair was not helping matters any. There's a basket filled with pastel paper easter grass and filled to burst with silver and bronze eggs, intricately designed with pipes, rivets and gears.

The Relics around town chirped, steamed, and vibrated, with the message already on-screen.

HAPPY EASTER （＊´∀｀＊ｂ）━━！！！！ There's eight eggs to be found in every area and dungeon today, so grab a basket by the Chaos Gate and find them all! One has a surprise for you, so bring the other seven to the Quest Kiosk for your final prize!

There's a sign beside the stacks of empty easter baskets detailing the objective a little further, stating that eggs in dungeons will be found no lower than the second floor, and that there's a prize for participating as well.

In the meantime, Kain is kicked back and playing a game on his Relic. ]



( ooc | Please don't forget to tag your characters into the log when you've replied! Here's the low-down on prizes: one of the eggs, when picked up, will spontaneously combust and your character will have a Rabbit Hood item automatically equipped. You can't remove it for the rest of the week, and it will give the character unique bunny ears like Kain, in the character's hair color (but sometimes accidents happen and it may not match!).

Anyone who participates but doesn't collect all the eggs in one area will be auto-equipped with an equally-irremovable Rabbit Tail charm ONLY ONCE! There will be no item duplicates, and all of the eggs they gathered will disappear at the end of the Quest if not turned in for the prize. The Rabbit Tail charm will give them a perfectly round fluff tail to match their ears.

Finally, if you collect all seven (eight with the bunny ears), you'll win a basket filled with fresh hot food, some extra rations, and a number of healing items. More free grub on the house! )

You know, I'm not sure how much more I can say without risking a visit from lawyers, but let's just say they had the power to change "THAC0" to "base attack bonus" and make a negative armor class bad. Pretty fundamental reality-rewriting.

At any rate, this entity has absolute authority to intervene in any world, and can also delete them. There are certain things it cannot change, but they are extremely limited.

But your world can't be gotten rid of no matter what?

Must be the Forgotten Realms setting.

It is beyond being a world. And yet, I had never considered such a possibility. I will think on it.

Not a world? You mean, like a whole Prime Material plane?

Or a 'crystal sphere', but honestly, who knows THAT term any more?

I suppose it would be more proper to call it an "intermediate space".

[They'd finally stepped close enough -- or floated -- to aggro those monsters they'd spotted. Roy draws back his greatsword, judges his moment, then steps forward as one charges him, intent on devouring his kidneys or whatnot. The sword flashes as he swats it into next week.]

Oh, you're a caster? I don't suppose you could tell me a bit about how magic works here?

[ooc:I went and looked it up; the Akashic Stratum is closest to 4E's Astral Sea. It's just compressed into a much smaller space.]

It seems to alter reality directly at the information level. I'm not entirely sure of it, though.

I'm less interested in the theory and more the spectrum of effects, honestly. [Roy kneels down to check for loot.] It helps to know what is possible and what limitations exist. I'm guessing we're not in a memorize-and-forget prepared systems of c--ARGH!

[Suddenly Roy has his own Bunny Hood; his questing fingers had touched the egg as he rifled the bodies.]

At the moment all I can do with this world's magic is make the attacks of enemies less powerful.

[surprises what are those. It's not like Al Saiduq suddenly stopped having bunny ears, either.]

And my positive hit point total appreciates that, even as my dignity once again is forced to fall back on the Diehard feat.

[Roy slings his sword back over his shoulder in agreement, resuming his slow pace forward in search of the eggs.]

So your magic is basically debuffing?

I have heard the Shining One call it that, yes.

[Although, that was Debilitate... more comprehensive, but the principles are the same.]

He is a person that I respect. I met him before I arrived in The World.

Oh good. I was wondering if I'd actually somehow missed someone with that kind of name. Literal?

I understand the concept of metaphor, but not what you are trying to use it for... Suffice it to say that it is his spirit that shines.
