Characters: Dave Strider (
coolness ) & Rose Lalonde (
knitwit )
Date: May 28th.
Date: PG-13 for Derse sibling awesomeness.
Summary: Rose meets Dave. Finally. And he's wearing girl's clothing. Still.
He had caught word of Rose being here from that big mouthed John lookalike, yet for the life of him, he couldn't find her. There was a bit of doubt in the back of his head that maybe Jake had gotten his facts wrong, that he may have slipped Rose and Roxy's names up with all of that peanut butter. Was there a bit of sadness in this conclusion forming in Dave's mind? Yeah, maybe. He didn't show it with his flat expression even in the midst of being dressed up like a magical girl, though. And as he wafted through the waves of players and NPCs alike, he scoured through the city for her.
Where would she be? If she treated this game like Sburb, she'd be out of the city trying to figure out some way to cheat the game like her and her hacker ancestors. Damn cheaters. If she treated it like a normal life sans shittier clothing than Sburb, she'd be in some kind of store, selling..
Books. Aw, fuck.
Dave's pace quickened at the observation and he was busy looking in numerous buildings for what good they sold. Weapons, trades goods, more retarded clothing. Once he saw the novels encased in a glass shrine did he realize he hit the right place.
Was what he was expecting behind the door actually there?

She stated matter-of-factly. There was just no way she could personally ever think that Roxy girl was in any way similar to her. Hmph.
"And then we went on a dungeon exploration. There would be some irony considering the dungeon he chose was full of nothing but heat. But I'm not going to write a narrative using comparison and contrasting elements withing this game. No fun if forum users can't benefit."
She was finally set to go, shutting the book with a wave of her hand. The glow faded and it would safely be latched upon her side once more.
"Hm? A shame. He's attempting to get the hang of the game, which is an understatement at the very best. He has no guide and is clanking around like a tin can caught in a torrential wave upon a rocky shore. Or something to that effect."
As he continued onward with his statements about her attire, she didn't say anything. She was nice enough to let him have his comment and be done. Oh no. It wasn't until he mentioned the future husband thing that she glanced back over her shoulder towards him.
He shouldn't have done that.
"Hm. With your prodding breadth of Strider man-power and the multiple reminders of past phallic abstruse dreams, I would almost suggest there is an indication of regret and disappointment for that. Don't worry, Dave. You can have a free kiss on the house. How dare I come between a hidden love like yours that urges deeper than 'bros'. My betrothed is yours for the embracing."

Dave wished he could see Dirk as his real brother, but the guy was the same height as him and more.. anime, for lack of a better word. Still pretty awesome, but anime non-the-less.
"Keep talking about him like that and I'm going to assume you have the hots for your bro. You know, the other one."
She had to have been expecting that. Go on an extended monologue about someone she was actually related to in a way and Dave would use that to his advantage. Not that he expected it to do much, but teases kind of came naturally between Derse children.
"I'm sure I'll find him clanking around eventually if he's the tin can you make him out to be. And it'll be a heartfelt reunion, completely unlike the ass oogling on your half."
Dave ignored his own sort of groping with eyes and then smiled just a little at the comments of John and Dave's budding romance. She really shouldn't have done that.
"Hey, if you're offering. I'll embrace him so hard that music will literally be played from the heavens 'cause of our reunion. The GMs will be so happy that we got back together and planted a big one that they'll let us out and back to our worlds. Game over, they say, as they throw down their grese-covered keyboards and hot cheetos to go get a set of towels."
See? Shouldn't have done it.

Rose smirked, wiggling her eyebrows juuuust a bit to tease him. Especially since the idle conversation of hots for ones brother/sister seemed to come up.
She didn't dwell on it and instead looked over the magical inventory in front of her.
"Yes, I'm sure your paths will cross eventually. It's nearly inevitable."
Rose listened as he rambled about his damned over-exaggerated ramble about bro-love and such.
"Hm. I'll remember to blackmail you with this later."
Tsk, she shook her head and pointed towards a row of spell scrolls that Dave may need? She wasn't sure of the intricacies that followed his class.
"Look, hush your subtle-yet-finally-exposed homoerotic ramblings for a moment. Do you have all the spells you can have at your level? Missing one could prove fatal for you or your guildees."
Rose noted the difference spells for difference classes and she idly looked over Daves with a worried expression.
"Let's be careful this time, Dave. No doomed timelines or death revival kisses, okay?"

Dave's just going to ignore the talks of John, because there IS no John existing in the world at the moment. Instead, his eyes fixated on the rows of books and scrolls and what other goodies the store may have offered. To be completely honest, he had been slacking on his preparations for the game due to the harsh conditions he found himself beginning in.
But now that he found his dear, dear sister, he could begin to straighten whatever needed taken care of.
"Aw, I almost felt the sincerity in that. I'll try my best not to get killed by one of my best friends. Or family members if you decide to be particularly grim this game."
He was a little morbid with that, still remembering that she dabbled in things she shouldn't have and how it bit her in the ass. Dave wasn't exactly happy about that decision of hers, but it at least showed she was capable of mistakes.
"I'm not even in a guild, but ok. Let me try to find some shit that's good for healing. Can't have you being riddled in blemishes."
Don't mind him as he brings his skirt-clad ass over to the display to look at them. It doesn't take him long until...
"... Uh, I don't know what I'm looking for here."

And it was obvious by the wash it took upon her face.
"Bite your tongue, Dave. You may very well meet someone who will cut it off sooner than converse with you after such an outburst," Rose spat.
Yup, good going, Strider. Smooth with the ladies.
Rose moves away, going to look over the future scrolls in her lineage in which she can unlock as she levels.
"Healing, resurrection spells, buffs. Spells which you can unlock are lit with green, those unable to be learned are dimmed. Follow the glow."
She was cryptic and distant, her lavender irises narrowing to just look anywhere but the derse dreamer.
It was quite obvious she was pissy.

There was a bit of bitterness in his voice. Considering her inability to listen to him in the past, thinking of it always made him a little angry. He may have not been sincere all the time, but when it came to her life and how to NOT die, she should take him up on his advice.
Instead of, you know, dying or going grimdark.
He could tell that this was her way of pouting, and as his hand idly ran against the spine of a book, he pulled back to look over his shoulder and at her.
"Alright, my bad. Don't need you getting mad at me so soon. I may actually need you to protect my half-naked ass."
Take the shitty apology or leave it, he thought to himself. But he did what she said and unlocked the spells that he was meant to have. Okay, that was anti-climatic as opposed to playing an actual MMO. And now he's fairly certain he had to pay for it with money he didn't have.
Yeah, he might be needing Rose's help sooner than he thought.

Her feet were nimble, carrying her towards the check out counter and tossing a small bit of coins on the table.
"I'm not mad; a bit peeved, sure, but you're not worth getting mad over any longer."
Rose let her hands fall limp as she examined the boy.
"Sibling antics and all. Light hearted fun, right? No reason to be upset."
Rose sounded cold, a bit colder than usual.
For someone who played the game to win, she sure did mood swing rather quickly. She wasn't a tutorial nor a walking FAQ. Usually, she would help the others but her lips remained tightly clamped together.
"Are you finished? I'd rather not dally around a dusty old shop for an hour. There's an inn across the ways and I already reserved my room. I'm fairly tired and would like to retire for the evening."
