SUMMARY: To some it's May Day, to others it's the European tradition of Walpurgisnacht-- in The World, we have both for you! There's no dungeons to raid or items to collect this go around, just stop by for free food, bonfires, and maybe some reward items just for your time.


[ A message beeps on everyone's devices the night of the 30th, nearing midnight. Any heavy sleepers or goody two-shoes may miss out on The World's first bonfire, but it probably won't be the last. The message is simple: an invitation to Δ Roaring Midnight's* Old World for good food and a midnight celebration for Walpurgisnacht.

And an alternative come 6AM for Δ Endless Sunshine's* May Queen*, if they'd prefer a daytime picnic and a dance around the maypole.

So what'll it be, Players? ]


( ooc: As these are special event areas, some of the words in these do not exist for player creation. "Midnight's", "Sunshine's", and "May Queen" are some of them! There'll be different event items to earn by attending either of these, and you don't need to pick one or the other. Apologies again for the delay, and for the number of event logs! There'll typically only be two a month or so. )

[ A soft 'hm' follows, inviting the man to carry on.

Having only met him twice, he can only trust Jiang Wei to a certain extent, but there is something oddly soothing about his presence. He doesn't reply because that's the right thing to do, it just comes out naturally. ]

I... wonder how it's like. [ To have strength instead of striving for it. To face all the difficulties without fear. ]

I also served as an assistant for domestic affairs to my kingdom's Regent.

[ he'd offer more if prompted with more specifics but it's difficult to explain in a place where most people haven't even heard of the three kingdoms.

But then Hope speaks so he looks over curiously. ] What do you mean?

[ Unfortunately, there were no kingdoms in this fantasy land. Mentioning a Regent is enough to confuse him for a second, so yeah, it might be for the better.

A pause as he gathers his thoughts. ]

I have a... friend [ yes, friend, he decides. ] who's a soldier. She taught me a lot of things I had no idea about, and... that's why I wonder. How it is to have that knowledge... and strength.

[ he's quiet for a moment, he's not someone that is really used to dealing with being looked at as strong. Not that his comrades think lowly of him but maybe it's just he's always comparing himself to impossible heights. ]

I think knowledge and strength on their own don't have very much meaning. Of course it is an accomplishment since even the talented must work in order to develop the ability. But even beyond that I think the most important thing is how someone uses their strength and their knowledge.

What I mean is, I wouldn't worry too much about comparing your own strengths to another's. If you set your heart to do something whatever else you might need for that task will be gained along the way. [ or maybe that's just wishful thinking. he's also probably only saying this because Hope is young, he has room to grow to begin with. ]

[ Now this sounded a little bit too pompous, and even Hope, with his tendency to go overboard with dramatic speeches can't help but to admit that. The advice makes him think, regardless, so he takes his time responding by returning to drinking his juice - unsurprisingly, the food has already gone cold. ]

Along the way.... In other words, patience is the key. [ And considering his situation, it's not much of a comfort. ]
