SUMMARY: To some it's May Day, to others it's the European tradition of Walpurgisnacht-- in The World, we have both for you! There's no dungeons to raid or items to collect this go around, just stop by for free food, bonfires, and maybe some reward items just for your time.


[ A message beeps on everyone's devices the night of the 30th, nearing midnight. Any heavy sleepers or goody two-shoes may miss out on The World's first bonfire, but it probably won't be the last. The message is simple: an invitation to Δ Roaring Midnight's* Old World for good food and a midnight celebration for Walpurgisnacht.

And an alternative come 6AM for Δ Endless Sunshine's* May Queen*, if they'd prefer a daytime picnic and a dance around the maypole.

So what'll it be, Players? ]


( ooc: As these are special event areas, some of the words in these do not exist for player creation. "Midnight's", "Sunshine's", and "May Queen" are some of them! There'll be different event items to earn by attending either of these, and you don't need to pick one or the other. Apologies again for the delay, and for the number of event logs! There'll typically only be two a month or so. )

[here's takeshi, standing a little ways behind roy, one hand on his hip and the other holding a kabob on the other. and he's looking so very disappointed at the NPCs dancing around the bonfire.]

As true as that may be -- and don't get me wrong, I have no ranks in Appraise(Dancing) -- it's a small price to pay for food, drink, and no stupid eggs or creatures to collect or bottles to recycle.

The subset of the Appraise skill which would be specifically used to determine the value of an observed dance.

Rogues, but in this edition, who knows? [Roy shrugs, mildly irritated at everything he knows being totally changed.]

The dancing is still really wrong, though. It's like watching robots dance.

If the price for food and drink is bad dancing, that's still a good value in my book.

Mmmm... [he's still frowning at the dancing.] I guess, as long as the food and drink is good, there really isn't much point in complaining. [and he wonders if they have beer, so he can at least be drunk and probably appreciate the dancing a little.]
