event five | Make a Wish

SUMMARY: There's a rumor of an event going around from NPC to NPC. There seems to be quite the party over at Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia! Perhaps it'll be a good time to check things out?

Once one makes their way to Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia they're greeted first with the sight of a starry sky along with a curtain of bamboo and what looked like a shrine off in the distance. Near a lantern lit path is a table with some calligraphy brushes and paper; there are already paper wishes tied upon the bamboo by NPCs wishing for better armor/weapons or maybe the member address of one of those cute Blade Brandiers walking around.

There's a shrine just past the walkway, lit with lanterns and filled to the brim with food and games stalls. Delicious aromas fill the shrine even as the sound of various games (shoot the star, hoop throwing and the occasional chim petting stall) serve as cheerful background music. There are a couple of branching paths but all of it leads to an exit on the other side of the shrine. At the final gate sits one cheerful looking Flick Reaper who hands out raffles to players regardless of whether they want to keep it or not ('it's all right,' he says, 'the tickets that are thrown away respawn anyway!'). It takes a bit of attention grabbing before he remembers to mention the prize in the raffle; a brand new steambike ready and waiting for a new owner. His raffle booth marks the end of the festival stalls.

Outside once more, the players are greeted with a large clearing and small lake that was previously hidden behind the shrine. With picnic blankets set out it seems that there might be show later on... Perhaps getting some snacks and enjoying some games might be a good way to spend your time before the show. There are, after all, quite a few prizes to be won ranging from simple stuffed dolls and generic items to middle tier weapons and armor as grand prizes.

One last thing; upon walking past the calligraphy table the guests will find themselves dressed in simple summer yukatas instead of their armor. The weather is warm and comfortable and the costume is theirs to keep along with any prizes won!

For everyone participating in the raffle for a brand new steambike please leave a number between 1-100 in your subject header!

To sum up everything; simply participating will net you a new 'Summer Yukata' costume fitted to your character's color scheme and style. Minor prizes at the stalls include generic items and toys while major prizes can range from accessories to armor to weapons (provided you have the skill to best the odds). There will be FIREWORKS to ICly mark the end of the event so no worries about not knowing when this thing is over for the characters. Remembering; backtagging is a-okay! ]

Wh-- [ the complaint dies on his lips, though; he's in no mood to quarrel despite the frustration slowly building up. Besides, something feels off. ]

I still don't get it. Isn't that how it works?

How it works? I didn't know that you were supposed to look at the ground when they're going off.

[ more harshly ] Listen, I'm not in the--

[ yep, he's totally eyeing the unwanted gift in his hands. Not even touching it - just staring. ] ...mood.

Nope~ You totally are in the mood for it. [ Hint: there might be tissues and a handkerchief in it ]

Just take a peek, I can almost promise you that you won't get bitten.

[ Normally, he would drag this on just for the sake of going against the advice... but now, he simply doesn't care, retrieving the pouch's contents with shaking fingers--

not because they're expecting a venomous snake inside, mind you, but because what he sees leaves him puzzled. ]

It's good to be prepared [ Oz laughs (of course) but it's a muted thing and only happens as he turns his head away. ]

It's something like a habit now. When I was a child...both Ada and Gil, they cried really easily.

[ because he's just another kid to add to the bunch, is it? Consider the gift returned. ]

Hm, I wonder...It's probably because I'm feeling melancholic.

[ c-catches the satchel and up-ends it; going for the handkerchief himself ]

[ It's not an answer Hope expected, and you can see it in his eyes when he turns around for a moment, his lips parted.

Wait, no. You're... not going to cry now, are you? ] ... Oz?

[ Noope, no crying, he's - tying the fabric into a knot however, for some reason.

And see, messy hair is really useful, it falls into your face and obscures it so nicely. ] Even this bright place...it's kind of lonely, isn't it?

[ Something about this voice, this tone, and most importantly, the question put up ties another knot - in his own throat.

Of course it's lonely. ] Y-Yeah. [ You're doing good job breaking him so far <3 ]

[ the knot begins to look kind of...ear-y ] It's the second time I've seen them...

I almost expected them to be less beautiful. That's pretty silly, huh?

[ Good thing Hope can't see the torture-device-in-making, or - whatever it is. Could easily get suspicious, you know.

seeming unimpressed. ] Just a couple of colorful explosives and stupid myths, it's all t-there is. [ you didn't see that tear, just now. ]

Myths?? [ you don't mention things you want to hide, boy ] I only found out that they are pretty tricky to make when I read up on them.

Gunpowder, magnesium, lithium, rubidium, sulfur, even sugar. To think that they consist of all that...

[ Hope shifts slightly in his seat. His entire train of thought, utterly wrecked by s c i e n c e. ]

They add some crystal dust for a better effect, I've heard... [ because random knowledge > answering actual questions. ]

Crystals? I know that they use magnesium to make them brighter, rubidium to colour them red and-

I guess you could count sugar as crystals [ SCIENCE will top them all, also I am a dork as you might see...one who is keeping you company ]

[ Taking advantage of the ~magic of the moment~? There is no other option for Hope but to rise to his feet, given the way his hand is suddenly trapped in the other's grip. Confusion (and maybe a hint of curiosity) written all over his face, he stares back at Oz, not saying anything. ]
