event five | Make a Wish

SUMMARY: There's a rumor of an event going around from NPC to NPC. There seems to be quite the party over at Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia! Perhaps it'll be a good time to check things out?

Once one makes their way to Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia they're greeted first with the sight of a starry sky along with a curtain of bamboo and what looked like a shrine off in the distance. Near a lantern lit path is a table with some calligraphy brushes and paper; there are already paper wishes tied upon the bamboo by NPCs wishing for better armor/weapons or maybe the member address of one of those cute Blade Brandiers walking around.

There's a shrine just past the walkway, lit with lanterns and filled to the brim with food and games stalls. Delicious aromas fill the shrine even as the sound of various games (shoot the star, hoop throwing and the occasional chim petting stall) serve as cheerful background music. There are a couple of branching paths but all of it leads to an exit on the other side of the shrine. At the final gate sits one cheerful looking Flick Reaper who hands out raffles to players regardless of whether they want to keep it or not ('it's all right,' he says, 'the tickets that are thrown away respawn anyway!'). It takes a bit of attention grabbing before he remembers to mention the prize in the raffle; a brand new steambike ready and waiting for a new owner. His raffle booth marks the end of the festival stalls.

Outside once more, the players are greeted with a large clearing and small lake that was previously hidden behind the shrine. With picnic blankets set out it seems that there might be show later on... Perhaps getting some snacks and enjoying some games might be a good way to spend your time before the show. There are, after all, quite a few prizes to be won ranging from simple stuffed dolls and generic items to middle tier weapons and armor as grand prizes.

One last thing; upon walking past the calligraphy table the guests will find themselves dressed in simple summer yukatas instead of their armor. The weather is warm and comfortable and the costume is theirs to keep along with any prizes won!

For everyone participating in the raffle for a brand new steambike please leave a number between 1-100 in your subject header!

To sum up everything; simply participating will net you a new 'Summer Yukata' costume fitted to your character's color scheme and style. Minor prizes at the stalls include generic items and toys while major prizes can range from accessories to armor to weapons (provided you have the skill to best the odds). There will be FIREWORKS to ICly mark the end of the event so no worries about not knowing when this thing is over for the characters. Remembering; backtagging is a-okay! ]

[ Taking advantage of the ~magic of the moment~? There is no other option for Hope but to rise to his feet, given the way his hand is suddenly trapped in the other's grip. Confusion (and maybe a hint of curiosity) written all over his face, he stares back at Oz, not saying anything. ]

[ magically appearing hills are useful (space magic YEAH), consider yourself tugged along some more ]

Don't grow roots! I wanted to try something with my little sister, but you'll do too!

[ Moving with the grace of a rag doll, Hope involuntarily follows his captor, shielding himself from the festival lights that draw closer and closer. ]

Wait--! [ struggling with blurry vision and returning headache, a light tug is the best he can manage. ] Where... are we going?

You know that you're supposed to complain when people say these things, right?

'You'll do too', is really rude! [ did you expect an answer ]

I don't care...! [ because he... really doesn't, at this point. Also, did you expect being civil] Just answer me!

You should, you know! Otherwise people will use you and -- oh, we're there!

[ 'there' being the top of the hill, almost but-- there's nothing to see???]

[ Look who's saying these wise words! A displeased huff is obligatory, but what he witnesses irks him even more. ]

There? ... You were seriously dragging me all the way here for...-- [ looking around, what is dis ]

[ Bunny is actually suddenly (!!) gone, up into a Magical Tree , but he'll lean down and reach down for you before you can blink ]

I was! You see, I want to share this with you!

[ You see, this phase of wandering around and climbing trees...? Hope's long past that, being at the serious age of fourteen. When you're older, you start thinking about different things--

--like how to escape this embarrassing situation without being spotted, knowing it's impossible. So, the least he can do is ignore the extended hand (wincing slightly) and... climb up on his own. Lightning didn't teach him all those acrobatic tricks for nothing...! ]

[ That makes Oz take a page out of Hope's book; if you listen closely you might hear him humph with feeling

but when you look at him once you're up? then he will be turned away from you (but that's a trick, too)]

[ Oh, two can play that game, you shameless instigator. Letting his feet dangle in the air, Hope exhales softly. ]

... You're weird. [ except... it doesn't sound like such a bad thing, for once. ]

Not as weird as some people.

I guess that's normal though. Not being able to recognise that entirely...

And what about turning your back to the person you wanted to speak with?

[ that does make him turn, but the smile he is sharing is - wobbly, eyes cast to your temple, or some other place ]

It isn't that I wanted to tal. I wanted to spend some time with you.

I... believe the same rule would apply, either way. [ it takes some effort to make it sound casual enough.

Even when people look at you directly..it's not a given that who they see is actually you.

[ Of course you don't, you're too earnest for that ] I told you that I wanted to be your friend!

[ an exclamation mark for an exclamation mark!! ] -- But you never gave me a chance to respond!

It doesn't... [ hanging his head. ] work that way just because... just because you say so.

I like you and want to have fun with you.

Otherwise I wouldn't have made the guild with you in mind, or let you close to my little sister.

[ the information overload makes Hope flinch in his seat in a manner so sudden, that for a second, a scenario with him hitting the ground seems oddly likely. ]
