event five | Make a Wish

CHARACTERS: EVERYONE ([community profile] holyrelic)
DATE: July 4th - 8th
RATING: PG
SUMMARY: There's a rumor of an event going around from NPC to NPC. There seems to be quite the party over at Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia! Perhaps it'll be a good time to check things out?

Once one makes their way to Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia they're greeted first with the sight of a starry sky along with a curtain of bamboo and what looked like a shrine off in the distance. Near a lantern lit path is a table with some calligraphy brushes and paper; there are already paper wishes tied upon the bamboo by NPCs wishing for better armor/weapons or maybe the member address of one of those cute Blade Brandiers walking around.

There's a shrine just past the walkway, lit with lanterns and filled to the brim with food and games stalls. Delicious aromas fill the shrine even as the sound of various games (shoot the star, hoop throwing and the occasional chim petting stall) serve as cheerful background music. There are a couple of branching paths but all of it leads to an exit on the other side of the shrine. At the final gate sits one cheerful looking Flick Reaper who hands out raffles to players regardless of whether they want to keep it or not ('it's all right,' he says, 'the tickets that are thrown away respawn anyway!'). It takes a bit of attention grabbing before he remembers to mention the prize in the raffle; a brand new steambike ready and waiting for a new owner. His raffle booth marks the end of the festival stalls.

Outside once more, the players are greeted with a large clearing and small lake that was previously hidden behind the shrine. With picnic blankets set out it seems that there might be show later on... Perhaps getting some snacks and enjoying some games might be a good way to spend your time before the show. There are, after all, quite a few prizes to be won ranging from simple stuffed dolls and generic items to middle tier weapons and armor as grand prizes.

One last thing; upon walking past the calligraphy table the guests will find themselves dressed in simple summer yukatas instead of their armor. The weather is warm and comfortable and the costume is theirs to keep along with any prizes won!

[ooc: as always, don't forget to tag yourself in when you reply to this log!

For everyone participating in the raffle for a brand new steambike please leave a number between 1-100 in your subject header!

To sum up everything; simply participating will net you a new 'Summer Yukata' costume fitted to your character's color scheme and style. Minor prizes at the stalls include generic items and toys while major prizes can range from accessories to armor to weapons (provided you have the skill to best the odds). There will be FIREWORKS to ICly mark the end of the event so no worries about not knowing when this thing is over for the characters. Remembering; backtagging is a-okay! ]

I got some equipment from one of the shooting games, and a stuffed animal from another. What about you?

Plenty of useless stuff I'll never use, mostly, from the same shooting game you mentioned. [ he sounds a bit disappointed with his share of 'bonuses'. ] It's high time to think of opening up a trade, I guess.

[ hand gestures...! ] And those animals are like a plague, why would anybody need that?

[ i-it's not like he secretly considered some of them cute, n-nope. ]

The NPCs here don't seem to mind it, at least.

[As for the animals... Wow. That's some reaction to a harmless plush toy.]

...They aren't very useful in terms of the game, but they might be good for decorating. [She puts a hand to her chin. It's not something she usually considers, but...] ...Having something else to look at in the guild @Home might be nice.

[ It's a basic rule, really. Being a teenager, it's very important to let everyone and their mothers know how mature you are, after all. ]

If you're into it, maybe. [ a quiet snort. ] I haven't even signed up anywhere yet, I should probably get to it soon.

[She gives a slight shrug in response. Shinon isn't exactly a goddess of interior design, either - her budget back home had been tight enough with paying for daily necessities as well as her game subscription, and her apartment was rather plain for it.]

Guilds are handy if you want a place to sleep at night. And... [There's a definite hesitation here.] ...Sometimes there's interesting people, too.

[ And it would be this awkward pause that grabs his attention and earns a half-curious, half-amused stare. ]

I don't doubt that. Any place you'd suggest?

The Order of the Staff and Sword has been good so far. The leader's... eccentric, though.

[...Yeah, let's just go with that.]

You mean weird?

[ a small grin. Since we've used similar vocabulary before, it doesn't count as being cheeky, right? ]

[Only a slight pause before she nods.]

Weird is a good word for it.
