event five | Make a Wish
CHARACTERS: EVERYONE (
holyrelic)
DATE: July 4th - 8th
RATING: PG
SUMMARY: There's a rumor of an event going around from NPC to NPC. There seems to be quite the party over at Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia! Perhaps it'll be a good time to check things out?
Once one makes their way to Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia they're greeted first with the sight of a starry sky along with a curtain of bamboo and what looked like a shrine off in the distance. Near a lantern lit path is a table with some calligraphy brushes and paper; there are already paper wishes tied upon the bamboo by NPCs wishing for better armor/weapons or maybe the member address of one of those cute Blade Brandiers walking around.
There's a shrine just past the walkway, lit with lanterns and filled to the brim with food and games stalls. Delicious aromas fill the shrine even as the sound of various games (shoot the star, hoop throwing and the occasional chim petting stall) serve as cheerful background music. There are a couple of branching paths but all of it leads to an exit on the other side of the shrine. At the final gate sits one cheerful looking Flick Reaper who hands out raffles to players regardless of whether they want to keep it or not ('it's all right,' he says, 'the tickets that are thrown away respawn anyway!'). It takes a bit of attention grabbing before he remembers to mention the prize in the raffle; a brand new steambike ready and waiting for a new owner. His raffle booth marks the end of the festival stalls.
Outside once more, the players are greeted with a large clearing and small lake that was previously hidden behind the shrine. With picnic blankets set out it seems that there might be show later on... Perhaps getting some snacks and enjoying some games might be a good way to spend your time before the show. There are, after all, quite a few prizes to be won ranging from simple stuffed dolls and generic items to middle tier weapons and armor as grand prizes.
One last thing; upon walking past the calligraphy table the guests will find themselves dressed in simple summer yukatas instead of their armor. The weather is warm and comfortable and the costume is theirs to keep along with any prizes won!
[ooc: as always, don't forget to tag yourself in when you reply to this log!
For everyone participating in the raffle for a brand new steambike please leave a number between 1-100 in your subject header!
To sum up everything; simply participating will net you a new 'Summer Yukata' costume fitted to your character's color scheme and style. Minor prizes at the stalls include generic items and toys while major prizes can range from accessories to armor to weapons (provided you have the skill to best the odds). There will be FIREWORKS to ICly mark the end of the event so no worries about not knowing when this thing is over for the characters. Remembering; backtagging is a-okay! ]

and my hiatus got accidentally prolonged /gulps
She'd understand. Lightning -- [ a soft sigh. ] ... s-she would understand.
[ spoken in a calm voice. He doesn't mean to sound reproaching, merely delivering the answer Sonic asked for.
and, then -- another one. Belated. ]
... I know. [ it's no use dwelling on the past, and he's aware of that. ]
no worries, it happens |D
And that's half the battle! Don't worry, sometimes crying helps. [a half shrug as he leans back on his hands] Prefer running myself for these sorts of moments.
no subject
I don't think it does. At least, n-not for me. [ silently. ] Do you... ever get scared?
no subject
Hm? [he turns and looks at Hope before looking at the fireworks again. Thinking about it...]
Well, yea. S'kinda hard not to get scared. [lopsided smile] It's getting past it that's the trick.
no subject
[ He places his head on his knees and stays quiet for a moment. ] And then, there's this place. A part of me wants to go back, but the other... knows there is nothing to return to.
no subject
[but when Hope goes silent, Sonic turns to look at him]
... If people aren't used to fighting, it's natural to be scared when bad things happen. S'just a matter of getting your feet under you and going again.
no subject
[ You see, for him, it's one of those forbidden words that make your sensors running at twice the speed by the very mention. ]
... Sounds like something he would say. No matter what happens, you can always start anew.
[ The look in his eyes is enough to tell that he's lost to this world, cryptic and stuck in his own little kingdom, filled with more angst than you'd probably expect from a teenager.
No, seriously. I'd run if I were you, Sonic. ]
no subject
Or he'll go to you. Whatever, dude, it's cool. Sonic'll just poke you in the side now]
Hey, don't go wandering down memory lane in the middle of a conversation! That's rude.
no subject
[ Aaand the dream is over, popped like a bubble by a vicious poke. Or not so vicious, Hope notices as rubbing his side (it hurt!), he turns his head to glance over at Sonic. There is no telling if he can trust these eyes, but a part of him advices him to try, at least.
Because despite everything, it feels different. ]
It wasn't... my intention. [ there's no usual 'sorry', though. He moves his hand to brush hair from his forehead; which is nothing but a sneaky attempt at getting the tears out of the way.
... At this rate, those poor napkins will go to waste. ]
no subject
C'mon now, chin up. Keep looking at the ground and you'll miss out on all the great views. There'll always be tomorrow.
[he'd wish for a mountain of handkerchiefs to help you through this, but he has no Ring Genie to do that anymore]
no subject
I didn't come here for the views. [ with one hand, he picks up a small rock and tosses it into the distance. ] I guess... it wasn't the best idea to stay in the first place. I don't fit in here.
no subject
...
[Sonic abruptly stands up, reaches down and starts hauling Hope up too (a couple of nearby NPCs seem a bit irritated by the sudden distraction)]
You didn't come for the view? Then why are you still sitting 'round for, you could've said so sooner! Let's go!
