event five | Make a Wish

CHARACTERS: EVERYONE ([community profile] holyrelic)
DATE: July 4th - 8th
RATING: PG
SUMMARY: There's a rumor of an event going around from NPC to NPC. There seems to be quite the party over at Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia! Perhaps it'll be a good time to check things out?

Once one makes their way to Δ Sacred Love's Cassiopeia they're greeted first with the sight of a starry sky along with a curtain of bamboo and what looked like a shrine off in the distance. Near a lantern lit path is a table with some calligraphy brushes and paper; there are already paper wishes tied upon the bamboo by NPCs wishing for better armor/weapons or maybe the member address of one of those cute Blade Brandiers walking around.

There's a shrine just past the walkway, lit with lanterns and filled to the brim with food and games stalls. Delicious aromas fill the shrine even as the sound of various games (shoot the star, hoop throwing and the occasional chim petting stall) serve as cheerful background music. There are a couple of branching paths but all of it leads to an exit on the other side of the shrine. At the final gate sits one cheerful looking Flick Reaper who hands out raffles to players regardless of whether they want to keep it or not ('it's all right,' he says, 'the tickets that are thrown away respawn anyway!'). It takes a bit of attention grabbing before he remembers to mention the prize in the raffle; a brand new steambike ready and waiting for a new owner. His raffle booth marks the end of the festival stalls.

Outside once more, the players are greeted with a large clearing and small lake that was previously hidden behind the shrine. With picnic blankets set out it seems that there might be show later on... Perhaps getting some snacks and enjoying some games might be a good way to spend your time before the show. There are, after all, quite a few prizes to be won ranging from simple stuffed dolls and generic items to middle tier weapons and armor as grand prizes.

One last thing; upon walking past the calligraphy table the guests will find themselves dressed in simple summer yukatas instead of their armor. The weather is warm and comfortable and the costume is theirs to keep along with any prizes won!

[ooc: as always, don't forget to tag yourself in when you reply to this log!

For everyone participating in the raffle for a brand new steambike please leave a number between 1-100 in your subject header!

To sum up everything; simply participating will net you a new 'Summer Yukata' costume fitted to your character's color scheme and style. Minor prizes at the stalls include generic items and toys while major prizes can range from accessories to armor to weapons (provided you have the skill to best the odds). There will be FIREWORKS to ICly mark the end of the event so no worries about not knowing when this thing is over for the characters. Remembering; backtagging is a-okay! ]

[You're welcome. He does have the decency to feel embarrassed mentioning that. It hadn't been quite the words he was trying to form.] Well, err... yes, those. Did your friend find you then?

[ Well, that was... quite a way to get your point across, indeed! ]

He's not my friend, [ Hope doesn't even give his words too much thought, they come out on their own as soon as the question pops up. ] and I was never lost to begin with.

[ a pause. ] Just what did he tell you?

[personal profile] orokamononya 2012-07-08 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That you'd run away at the sight of him and that you're a wet blanket. [A pause.] Though I am not sure how that relates.

[ . . .

the candy suddenly tastes so bitter. ]

In other words, he goes around filling people's heads with absolute nonsense.

According to him, he had good intentions.

Though it doesn't seem like you're quite lost at all.

Of course I'm not...!

[ Much to his embarrassment, Hope's desperate cry draws more attention from the NPCs than he intended (hint: it was supposed to be a civil answer, but somebody got carried away); he drops his gaze to the ground, hastily muttering under his breath ('itwasalllies'). Um. ]

[Welp, okay that makes him feel dumb and embarrassed too. He had believed Oz after all.]

Sorry about that. He seemed so serious about it...

Oh -- pretty sure he did.

[ ... and so do other tricksters when they want to get job done. ]

I, uh... It's [ even more awkward now ] fine. Let's just... forget about it? The whole... p-puppy thing. [ holy crap, did he seriously just say that out loud?! ]

Hope. [ reaching out his hand ] My name is Hope.

Tsubaki Sasuke. You may address me as Tsubaki.

[Hope? Uh...] Do you happen to have a last name?
brightfuture: (☆ speaking my mind)

[personal profile] brightfuture 2012-07-26 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Oh... [ Here, rarely anyone ever asks, so he's got used to the informality.

Still, where are his manners-- ]
Sorry -- it's Estheim. Hope Estheim. But... yeah, just Hope would be enough.

[personal profile] orokamononya 2012-07-28 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
If it's all right, I'd prefer to use Estheim. [The name is so foreign on his tongue, but he's too shy to use first names. Not that he'd let him know.]
brightfuture: (☆ yes?)

[personal profile] brightfuture 2012-07-28 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Prefer? [ surprised. ] W-well, it's not like I can stop you, but...

[personal profile] orokamononya 2012-07-31 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Is there a problem with it?

... Why being so formal?

[ true, he gets his awkward times, too - but it's not like playing an adult in front of another teenager is gonna aid him in his problems in any way. ]

[... Oh, uh.] You're not Japanese, right? It's standard to use the last name with strangers.
