SUMMARY: Perhaps it's an April Fool's joke-- surely Saint Patrick's Day has already passed. And yet clovers rain down and the fountains run green regardless. But it's a nice welcome to The World regardless, so enjoy it while it lasts!


There's gold banners strung from rooftop to rooftop, catching the light of the eternally-setting sun and reflecting it every which way. The ground's already covered in a generous amount of fallen shamrocks, with no end in sight. They're in your hair, on your clothes, in your food-- everywhere!

The main fountain (as well as the smaller second fountain in the alchemy district) is running with fizzing green soda, glass mugs lined up along the edges invitingly. New characters will receive one of two items-- in the first half of the week, they'll be awarded a limited edition golden weapon to suit their class, adorned in emeralds. In the latter half (for later applicants), they'll receive a leprechaun hat. The size is entirely up to the player, so it can range from a cute, small hat a la lolita style, or a big floppy hat, or a dapper silk top hat.

Have a look around, meet others, and enjoy the Irish foods offered for free at NPC shops to go with the soda. All items earned are to stay!



There's even a young silver-haired GM dolled up in green silks at the quest kiosk available for questions, although he doesn't look particularly friendly. His body language says to Stay Away, despite his location right in the upper left corner of the town center.

Oh, I'm too stupid to be a sorcerer. [ the way she says it sounds like she's quoting something someone told her. ]

I just teleport mostly. And um. [ glancing at the back of her left hand. ] Oh, I still have my cyclone rune too.

What? Wizards use Intelligence. Sorcerers use Charisma. The two aren't related. How do you teleport without a casting class?

For that matter, what's a cyclone rune?

[ you... are saying something and it means something but she doesn't know what. A long silent stare, she is trying to think but nothing is happening. She shakes her head a bit. ]

I can teleport because I have the Blinking Rune. [ well, she's the only one that seems capable of using it to teleport outside of battle but she's not going to mention that because...it doesn't occur to her that it makes a difference. ]

Um...you don't use runes? [ she holds out both her hands palm down. the image is subtle but it's possible to make out two images. ]

No, I don't use runes. I'm a fighter. My sword is magical, but that just makes it hit harder and more accurately.

So you don't have a class level at all? Not even one of the why-would-anyone-take-this ones like commoner?

Eh? But everyone uses runes I thought. Not all runes are magic runes... wait, does that mean there aren't any runes here?

[ ...it finally occurs to her that she is nowhere near anywhere she's ever been. ] Wow, I must be really lost this time.

Some spells use runes, but not all of them. And I attack things with my sword, drawing on years of training and experience to do so. Why would I need a rune to do that?

...and don't you have a family or something you should be getting back to? Or at least a home? Or a castle, apparently.

I...don't think we're talking about the same runes. [ wow, she made an accurate observation. well runes and food are about the only things she understands. ]

My home is really far away, I haven't been able to get back in... Um, how long has it been? Um, a while...I think. And there's just Viki but I haven't seen her... [ more confusion. keeping track of time is so difficult when you don't experience it in a linear fashion. ]

I don't know.

I am! And...she is too. It's hard to explain. [ and she's not good at explaining things. ]

I can't leave you alone to just, I don't know, get eaten by a displacer beast or a dragon or a flail snail or something. You clearly need someone to watch out for you, and in absence of any other Lawful Good characters with consciences and a certain atonement of atonement to make towards people who act like you, that means me.

[Maybe if he avoids this 'mirror' subject, it won't come up. He's pretty much expecting his soul to get stolen or something.]

I probably won't understand either way. [ have an accepting smile. ]
