SUMMARY: Time to give Springtime one last hurrah with a quest!

[The same thing happened as with the first quest: Relics all over The World ring simultaneously with a message readily available on-screen. It says,

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY (っ´ω｀)ﾉ
It's time for a race! Spring is almost over, and summer is right on the horizon. These tulips aren't going to last much longer. Find four puzzle pieces in the flowers and assemble it to gain access to the Temple where you can find the special item! Don't break the flowers or else you break the puzzle piece, too! The first player or team to solve the puzzle and bring back the special item wins the prize!

Sounds fun, doesn't it? A note at the bottom of the message has three keywords: Δ Serene Sunshine's May Field. Players who warp to this event area will be greeted by a sunny field of tulips. Each flower contains a puzzle piece, but only four pieces match up with each other, so be careful not to destroy the puzzle pieces!

If you're not up for questing this time around, celebrate Mother's Day at a picnic on a plateau on the same map. There is a picnic all set up overflowing with tea and cake and cookies and all sorts of pastries. Why don't you take a break from looking for puzzle pieces here, too?]

(ooc | Apologies for the delay!! Please don't forget to tag your characters in when you post! The keywords in this quest aren't for player creation use either, so keep that in mind!

Now, for the quest low-down: only one player or one party can win this quest. The flowers are fragile, so don't use force when you pry the petals open for the puzzle pieces! Breaking the flowers will result in the puzzle piece crumbling, too. All the puzzle pieces can connect with the right piece, and you need four to complete the puzzle, and players will have to go through a lot of flowers to find the right combination (who said this was an easy quest?). Once assembled, the puzzle will reveal a picture of a tulip in a glass case, which is the item the player/party will find in the temple in the middle of the field area. Bring this back to Kain at Mac Anu, and the player/party will receive the prize. An announcement will be made once the tulip in the glass case is returned. It will then be displayed at the top of the Mac Anu fountain.

The winner(s) of the event will receive +1 level for this event, and a Never-Withering Crown of Flowers that when equipped, gives the player a 5% atk bonus against monsters with the earth element. Good luck and have fun!)

It'd certainly save us a lot of time. [ mulling this over... on one hand, it feels like cheating-- but on the other hand, he's kind of tired of peeling open flowers. ] Do you think they'd mind? The people supervising this.

I don't think they'll be able to find out.

Well, the person in charge of events like this is in the city.

[ ahhh he catches on-- ]

... we should take advantage. [ grinning slightly, he double-checks to see if anyone's watching, before putting out his hands towards the pile of flowers that he gathered from before. closing his eyes! getting into ready position. ] Here I go.

[She nods, completely prepared for the technique she knows is coming.]

[ time to do a little revealing!

concentrating, he reaches out with his mind's eye, feeling the psynergy hum until it expands into a wide circle around him. when he opens his eyes again, the world is black and white. he glances over the flowers with his newfound vision, and is pleasantly surprised... to see that he can see shining puzzle pieces within. ]

Well, it looks like it's working.

[Mia, as always, is able to share this vision. And of course as I type this the desert music starts playing.]

It does...

[ afdlkjds it was meant to be... he nods. ]

So now we can see the pieces... Can you try picking a flower up, Mia?

[Without actually speaking, she does.]

[ oh, good, so the spell is holding. he nods. ] Okay. Now, to find matching pieces... the puzzle's based on how many knobs there are on each side, right? And the knobs fit together?

[mercuryangel]

That sounds right... but just because that's true doesn't mean the pieces will match.

[revealed]

True. But it'll at least lower the number of combinations we'll have to try. [ focusing... and then pointing at the flowers. ] Try that one and that one. And... that one with the one over there.

[ he'll take... another, and the one to the right and start peeling these flowers back. ]

[mercuryangel]

[She grabs a couple of the indicated flowers and starts gently peeling them open.]

[revealed]

[ workin' on these flowers... he's never been so glad that his reveal technique holds out even while he's doing things. as long as he makes sure he doesn't leave the circle... ]

[It turns out that, yes, the pieces match... There are several good pairs now.]

[revealed]

[ oh, good, so it wasn't in vain klasdjfsla. he's also got a few matching pairs, here, even as he directs their attention to more pieces that could match-- ]

Oh, try that one. [ pointing! could it be the elusive third piece for one of their pairs...? ]
