CHARACTERS: Jiang Wei ([profile] dualedge) and Lu Xun ([personal profile] firetrap)
DATE: May 8th
RATING: PG for monsters and fighting?
SUMMARY: Time to test out shiny spells, new and potentially useful things!

It would take some time to become accustomed to the abrupt change from town to field. There were many foreign things in this world and Jiang Wei had no doubt there were some things he would never get used to. The way they an entire town and field could be seemingly caught in a single moment of twilight when the sky was painted the deepest red – he wondered if it would ever become commonplace to him.

He was getting used to other things though, the weapon he was given though not truly his own was something he could use effectively. He was getting used to terms like SP and HP which in turn stood for something else, the fact that the device called the Relic seemed to know more about him than his mother was creepy but also something he was getting used to. He was also getting used to Lu Xun’s presence, naturally drawn to the one person that remembered the same world and times.

They’d explored various fields together since their chance meeting, it helped that Lu Xun was the only one that was used to his apparently outdated mannerisms.

“Master Lu, have you acquired any new abilities you need to explore?” The functions of the Relic were becoming more familiar but it seemed intrusive to simply view someone else’s information on it.

Lu Xun took a moment to study the sky.

Though it was not a familiar sky, it was coloured the same as the sky he had often spend time with his comrades under. Was it so strange to miss his home? Still, Lu Xun was thankful that he had somebody he could -- maybe -- call a friend, even if he did not truly know who the other was yet.

During one of their past adventures, Lu Xun had tried to test his other 'role', the Macabre Dancer. Apparently, as an Adept Rogue, he had access to two different 'roles' that he could switch between at a moment's notice, giving him access to two different skill sets. And when he found out the Macabre Dancer's weapon was a pair of fans, Lu Xun could not help but think of the two Qiao sisters who were the true masters of the fan... He had fought one battle with the fans before deciding he would stick to his twin blades. After all, if either of the two ladies was here to see him fight with fans, he was sure they'd both call him out on not being graceful enough.

To Jiang Wei's question, he answered, "Just one spell and a skill." Though he had additional 'support' skills from his Macabre Dancer class from his levelling, there was only one thing he found curious that he wanted to test: Repth. "What of you, Master Jiang?"

Lu Xun nodded, smiling.

This was not the first field with a boss monster they'd stepped onto, having explored other fields and dungeons together before this one, but it had been a while since that last one. By now, Lu Xun was almost accustomed to how large the boss monsters was, though the size had certainly been a surprise the first time he laid eyes on one. The battle proved challenging but defeating it had been much easier than expected.

"You should try yours first, Master Jiang," he said, after a moment's consideration. Using the supposed 'healing' spell would be a waste now, when both of them were still perfectly unharmed. Lu Xun looked around, spotting a group of monsters on the other side of the field, and then glanced back at Jiang Wei. "Shall we?"
