event two | recycle, reduce, reuse!
CHARACTERS: Everyone!
DATE: April 21st~23rd
RATING: PG for pointy sticks and garbage death!
SUMMARY: Earth Day weekend isn't really a holiday, right...? But there's ten tons of recyclable garbage littered all over Mac Anu! Perhaps if you do your part and help clean the town there'll be another prize in it for you, huh? Hey, if nothing else, you have pointy sticks to stab garbage with-- take your stress out!
Mac Anu is a sore sight today, littered in recyclable goods, with empty plastic bottles floating in the harbor and the smallest scraps of cardboard and discarded cans in every nook and cranny. It may seem like a prank at first, until one notices the clearly-labeled recycling bins around the fountain with sharp metal-tipped sticks and mesh bags just begging to be picked up and put to use. The GMs are nowhere to be seen, but...
...There's an Out to Lunch sign on the Quest Kiosk. Maybe one will turn up sooner or later...? It's a pretty straightforward objective, if a tedious one. Mind the ends, and don't go stabbing each other's feet!
( ooc | Apologies for the late event log! This is a bitty event, and the prize is a wee one-- as thanks for picking up the town and restoring it to a spic 'n span state, we'll ensure you get plenty, plenty of item drops to make up for it! Everyone will receive lvl.1 Simple Bracelets and Simple Necklaces modified with the item Dowsing Chain, which increases item drops by monsters 25%. They'll be titled "Search Bracelet" or "Search Necklace" and everyone can use them. )

[And N is totally speaking from experience here. Yeesh.]

[....why can't Oz meet sane, sensible people? brb chucking some more cans at you {the angles might be a bit fantastical}]
no subject
I haven't encountered such a problem.
no subject
Are you saying you've done that before?
no subject
Not myself, no. I had a triad of "spies" that looked into things on my behalf, to ensure things were going as I desired.
They were also good for my curiosity. There was quite a bit I wished to know.

finis~

[He genuinely doesn't seem to quite understand why. There's a glimpse of vague understanding of the paranoia, but spies never really held that sense of danger to him.
After all, what good would a spy against him do? He didn't lie or keep secrets.]
I have no use for them in a place like this. Would there really be a reason for anyone to feel uneasy?
no subject
[ Oz is beginning to feel the dire consequences of brainbreak here. Somehow, this place is full of trolls and then social-dumbs - both of these groups are kind. hard on the head.
And, oh N, you are so much better than Oz here. The bunny is lying and hiding like a pro, idiot-face and all ]
The question is rather, why would anyone believe you? You used unfair methods before after all.
no subject
[And that's true, too. Though as he goes on, speaking a mile a minute, he doesn't quite help his own case.]
I wanted to know the hearts of the humans whose Pokemon loved them. I wanted to know what sorts of humans were good to the Pokemon they took with them to battle at their side. I had only heard of cruel trainers, before then, and I wanted to see more.
And there was one trainer in particular I had wished to know more of... they were pursuing the Truth.
no subject
and wao hey, don't forget to breathe will you?! ]
Most people simply - ask, you know? It's more fun if you actually get to talk with people instead of just watching them from the shadows that only makes you really creepy.
[ leaning back now that the cans are collected and caught, weight on his hands. For someone who keeps on grumbling about how weird you are he seems pretty comfortable here ]
Are pokemon common where you come from?
no subject
I did ask, of course. But I couldn't follow them on their journeys, since I had several things I was concerning myself with as well. They told me a lot about their trainers.
[Meaning he talked to the Pokemon more than the trainers.]
Yes, they are. They're the creatures of my world. The word most often used by others in this place seems to be 'animals', but Pokemon can be plants as well.
no subject
You aren't the type to do things by halves, huh? Most people would have left it at the questions.
[ wait, wait - from your descriptions Pokemon could be pretty much anything but one thing is kind of eating at his brain already ]
The plants where you come from are able to speak?!
no subject
No one can hear their voices, normally. But I can.
no subject
Have you seen any of them around?
no subject
[He oddly doesn't seem to respond to being called special.]
no subject
[ that just makes you appear arrogant, N. Don't do thissss ]
no subject
Tell me, then, what sort of place you come from. I am interested to hear about it.
no subject
[ again, way more than Oz can say who is - not suspicious here, nope~]
no subject
no subject
[ if you could make 'kicking legs in the air' a tone then Oz' voice would sound like that. Lacking that however, he just sounds childishly thoughtful ]
no subject
[There's a simple "huh" tone in N's voice, as he's... failing to see what's wrong, on a couple levels. He has a vague idea of it logically, but it's just not clicking properly.]
