CHARACTERS: Ada
adarable and Oz Vessalius
noisyclockhands
DATE: June 6th
RATING: G for sibling adorableness
SUMMARY: Siblings struggling to survive the nice summer nights without a roof over their heads!!!
[ Ada shivers - cold is not really much of a trouble here, considering sickness isn't something they have to worry about, but the atmosphere and the environment and the world around them all read cold, and so she feels cold, even if it doesn't really bother her much. She curls into Oz, and chances a peek at him - is he sleeping? - and breaks her own feint of sleep(, though it wasn't very good in the first place because she was smiling and she really didn't look very asleep at all, but she can't be asleep - not now, not when she's with her brother; she has to treasure the moment and treasure it she does). ]

/just bought Oz a paid, the world is good NOBODY KNOWS WHAT TIME IS ANYWAY
Oz is looking of into the distance, expression thoughtful. He is not in the best of moods despite Ada being this close. Or, rather, because of Ada being this close. Not that he could say that, not that he could let that stand without an addendum: Oz is not happy and it has everything to do with him failing in his duty to protect his sister.
That's how he sees this, in any case.
He's still trying to plan, berating himself, when he notices that Ada is looking at him. Call it a special little-sister sense, it would not be off {or paranoia, that could work too}. He looks to her, a wink and gentle look at the ready ]
Still fighting with the sandman? [ he does not notice how childish these words are just now ]
yes good, bunnies need all the paids TIME IS A LIE, A VERY SILLY LIE
Little-sister sense sounds just perfectly fine, as paranoia implies no love, and little-sister sense sounds better than paranoia anyway. ]
Ah.. [ She gives a meek smile, and although Oz's words are childish, she doesn't really mind. ] It's hard to sleep. [ her admission lacks, "because I am so happy," but maybe her dumb smile will convey that for her. ]
Onii-sama, are you all right? [ because you're not asleep either. ]
WHO CARES ABOUT TIME let us break it I-i mean~ also semi-fitting icons aaa
Let us go with little-sister senses then, and love, and bright green eyes that are resting very much on you. One of the things Oz is good at: Looking at Ada as if she is everything that matters in the moment. ]
Ahh, that was awkward [ a a slight cringe as he notices his own words but he soldiers on, not freezing as he did when they had been recently reunited ]
That almost looks like someone has too many happy thoughts to sleep.
I'm fine! [ 8DDD why ever would we not be ] Do I look bad to you?
NO ONE DOES, NO ONE except ada, who would like to stop growing up before her brother tvym
Ada is very good at believing in those eyes, and she is also very good at looking like Oz is everything that matters for every moment, and it's quite true. No one is more brilliant than her brother, after all, and those bright green eyes only reinforce the fact. ]
Mm? [ she's glad he doesn't freeze like before - it's something she's noticed, and quite frankly was not very fond of, so it's good that it's gone. ]
A..ah! [ this is the face of "how did you know, are you a mind reader" now, and the shy laughter like water that comes afterwards. ]
W, well.. [ she's a little hesitant, ] Onii-sama wasn't sleeping, so I was wondering if something was weighing heavily on your mind? [ concern, as always, for her older brother. ]
OKAY SEE sibling love shows itself in his agreement with this. Adaaaa he is supposed to be taller!!
But these are worlds that are not {yet} part of their lives, so it all comes down to the sky, the cold, their personal beliefs. ]
The tip of your nose gave you away~ [ a teasing tone but so much more gentle than anything he uses on other people
and okay, oops, the next words give him pause once more. ]

I just can't wait for the next day, it's exciting, right?
oz is always taller in her heart ;;
Anyway, yes, these are certainly fun to talk about but they are not yet existing or part of their lives, and may not even ever be part of their lives if they're not canon updated, so. Or, unless you're talking about something else, in which case, I have no idea what I'm writing right now. The IC/OOC barrier is getting very thin. ]
Ah! [ Ada covers her nose with a hand, before giggling. ] How does that give it away..?! [ This time she is voicing her question, because mind reading keeps surprising her. ]

Are you implying that the possible fourthwalling is leaving you confused and befuddled? Are you? Because if you are, I might have to claim understanding
this bunny has certainly enough of that {and now imagine what will happen if someone ever meets them after having read Lewis Carrol...} So, to avoid this filibuster of chaos we shall talk about stars and the cold and two siblings who might be kind of attached to each other. ]
It is glow~ing~! A little light in the night! That's what Uncle used to say, do you remenber?
no subject
...but, here, a small worry: ]
It has been good so far, hasn't it?
no subject
I am definitely implying this, yes. The understanding goes to you--!!
(That'd be kind of, well. Hilarious, I'd suppose, as well as maybe a bit scary.) Yes, stars and cold and other such things sounds wonderful.
This here sibling is going to grin, nodding fondly with the recollection of those particular memories. ] I remember..! But, I'm not a reindeer-- !
[ and she pauses, still on her giddy trip, and nods. ] Nothing but wonderful, onii-sama! You're here with me, and I feel as if nothing could possibly go wrong!

{Hilarious because clearly everyone would be laughing after they realise that their lives are even more screwed over, right? Right! } and Oz reaches his hand out here, curling his fingers around Ada's nose and tweaking very softly. ]
Are you sure of that? Uncle would not lie to us now, would he?
[ d-daaaaw Ada T^T The smile that wobbles over Oz' face is clearly not unsteady (it wobbles for a reason) and the laugh is a bit
breathless, really. ] You know, I still worry that you might take sick. I guess that's what they mean when they talk about old habits.
no subject
(That is always, always the most hilarious!) She gives a soft 'hiii' as her nose is tweaked. ]
O, of course he wouldn't! But -- [ and she tries to look very serious, although she's failing and her grin is leaking at the corners of her mouth ] I can't be a reindeer, I'm a human girl!
[ The laugh gives her stomach butterflies, and she gives a reassuring smile. ] Onii-sama worries too much -- [ but she isn't unappreciative of it, and she's very happy. ] It's all right, though. Old habits are very hard to get rid of.

Looks authentic [ a touch to your cheek, a slight tug at your bangs ] feels authentic as well! Either someone has done a really good job, or my little sister isn't lying.
But I don't think you'd do that to your older brother [ laughter, still, at this. It's both that Ada soothes him into happiness (at times) and that he simply needs to be happy when she is around. Smiles create smiles, let us stick with that ]
Seems that we need to look for another career for you then!

My sense of honour dictates that I look after my sister, you know? It's my duty and my joy.
